Joe Biden has pulled out of the US presidential race, bowing to weeks of pressure over his age and health. The 81-year-old said he was ending his re-election bid in the best interest of his party and the country. He announced his decision in a letter released on Sunday where said he plans to focus on his duties as president for the remainder of his term. Biden has now endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic party's new nominee to run against Donald Trump in November's election.
Biden's exit comes less than a month before the Democratic convention in Chicago. Kamala Harris is moving to lock in delegates to confirm her nomination. But some in the party are calling for the process to be thrown open for other contenders.

Open DNC for other candidates is a must for democracy to work. Especially if voters already voted for Biden in the primaries.

the vassals of usa are sad their master was sacked by his masters 🥺
  • 7:08 Are you hearing yourself? Since when is having a plurality of opinion a bad thing, a chaos? Unification is a tell sign of a dictatorship, not a democracy. Isn't it better to work through the differences instead of swapping them under the rag? Show us all how it's done, Dem party: how you can behave like grown-ups, listen to each other and act responsibly with common good as a goal, how the democratic process is the right way to have true representation of different people without shutting up anyone. Such a showcase has a potential to become your strongest weapon.

We have a lot of uniformed voters who vote for personality and/or crayon color political parties. There are however, many informed voters to whom policy is important. Only Robert Kennedy has the name recognition, policy, and polling numbers to compete with trump.
