  • As an Indian I feel you Indonesia. No matter how much others point our potential, corruption overpopulation nepotism is deep-rooted. 😢
  • I am a new expat in Jakarta, Indonesia. Saya masih belajar Bahasa Indonesia tapi, loving every moment so far. People here are good. It motivates you to do good for them. I look forward to starting my business in this great nation and growing together with the people. Certainly, infrastructure needs vast investment and improvement. Day-to-day bureaucracy could also use some improvement for greater business flow and progression. These two alone (although not small achievements) coupled with an education reform would be ideal.
  • Corruption can be a problem but having incompetent politicians making important decisions is way worst....
  • Indonesia's biggest problem is corruption, the government need serious measures to address it

Do you think it's a good time to consider selling some stocks, or is it better to hold onto them for the long term? I’m considering rebalancing my $2M portfolios, So I'm curious about the best strategies to invest this year.

this may be nice to hear, but having lived there for 2 years as an expat - it is a very tough place to do business as foreigners. there are deeply established local patronage networks, impossible to break into. maybe only via singapore who has been financing a lot

Indonesia makes awesome movies and TV series, especially in the horror and martial arts genre. The scripts are well written, original, and sophisticated. The cinematography is excellent and the acting is good too. If they can rid their country of corruption, the sky's the limit.
  • Indonesia will be a good leader to asean countries best regards from your brother Philippines.
  • As indonesian, I do believe that indonesia could play an important role in the world. Indonesia need to collaborate with developed country like USA, china, europe, rusia and arabic country with mutual benefits and fairness. Indonesia is very welcoming to investors and the people here is very nice and productive.

I am indonesian who live in germany. In my opinion, corruption is hard to cure in indonesia. And now nepotism is growing up again. Middle class in Indonesia live so struggle, while lower class can not step up. When the government said Indonesia will leave middle income trap, believe me it's only for certain middle-up class citizen. Government also says need foreign investment, but they forget to push their own local product/service to grow
  • IMO,we dont need to be global superpower, just be prosperous is enough, and reallisticly we cant compete/catch with usa and china economy just in century, but if becoming superpower in region(south east asia)it can be truee☺️

"As an Indonesian, I see my country as a lake that has been dredged of its fish by corrupt officials, leaving nothing for the people. The problem is that there are so many corrupt individuals."
