The debate ended in 2009 for many people including me. Leo is just light-years ahead of everyone else when it comes to pure football. A Jack of all Trades whilst being the master of all. Over 75% of football legends be it former players or coaches picks Leo and The GOAT. Zidane calls him magic. Mourinho calls him The God of Football. Carlo doesn't speak about him because it scares his players. When he retires, football will lose something it will never get again. Because to me, Leo is once in all existence phenomena. He is something else entirely.

When we talking about Leo Messi we should feel blessed witnessing him. Out there, are thousands of good players, but when you watch Messi, it’s just something else man,it’s pure joy and class. zidane pretty much sums it up: if you have a understanding of football then what leo does is what you want to see. the flow, the naturality, the magic. if you understand the game, there is no one better. it also helps realising how good diego must have been, because the talk about him is very similar ( for example for me, born in 82, my first memories of maradona are the 90 world cup final and then what happened in usa...).
