    That Kobe Bryant story just solidifies how legendary Ronaldinho is aswell. Messi was 17 at the time which makes it even more incredible.

    Sports journalists need controversy for the sake of making programs interesting, but to me--and I daresay to most people who understand football--it was never even a debate. There have been many great goal scorers in football history, though arguably Ronaldo is among the best especially given his longevity. But Messi is one of a kind. Pele and Maradona come in close, but again, neither of them had the longevity Messi has. And what makes him even more special is his humility. If anyone could boast about his achievements, that would be him. Yet he never points to himself. This is because nobody understands better than him that at the end of the day, it's 11 against 11. His goal is never personal. It's always for the team to win. That is what makes him truly great.

    Lionel Messi is just a Gift from the 'Footballing God's' and I feel lucky to have seen most of the Greatest Players in their Prime, but I've never seen anyone quite like him. He is unique, and we should appreciate him and enjoy him while we can. I'd just like to see him lift the World Cup, he deserves to.
