Even if I could afford this, I would still wait for the second gen model. The battery would probably see an improvement and there would be broader app support by then.
-
Few years down, i can imagine this product coming in sunglasses.... Then spectacles... Then lenses and we'll be able to measure people's power levels and pick fights
-
I’ll buy the Vision SE for $999
-
Reminds me of the first apple watch when they even brought a gold apple watch. And they put all kinds of things between hardware and software and they slowly but surely positioned the product as a health and fitness device.

Just wanted to say for the record, this thing’s displays are a total of 23 megapixels. The HTC Vive Pro 2, the highest resolution VR headset for home use, only has about 12. It’ll be the highest resolution VR headset to date. Even more that the current highest headset, the Varjo VR-3 with about 16 megapixels. This is most likely one of the main reasons why this thing is so expensive. In VR, resolution is one of the single biggest factors in the quality of the experience.

The popularity of Vision Pro mostly relies on third party app development interest. There's a reason why not many games were ported to Mac OS, and that is the size of target consumers not being big enough for the development to be justifiable. It's still a new tech, and Apple should really focus on making a lower cost version in the coming years to trigger mass adoption.
-
I can remember a time paying over $3000 for a top-of-the-line Mac Pro desktop and that was a 1990s dollars.
-
The Vision Pro is actually something I'd love to have but right now all priorites go towards AMZT30 which Amazon "accidently" put up at the same day.
-
ready player one vibes
-
Thoughts on Vision Pro vs Amazons AMZT30 ? I believe Amazon has the edge in many thing, this included
-
The vision pro 2 is gonna be insane.

For anyone fallowing VR gaming (PS VR 2, Quest 2) and the technology development this is a mighty tech demo. At that point is hey WWDC this is what we thing AR/VR could look like. If you want our first AR/VR Dev kit you can have it for 3499$. This device is super slick and nice but after all is a AR/VR dev kit. The price considering the tech in it is reasonable but it's not a mainstream device. Still a lovely tech demo.

So by Spring 2024 Anker will have a battery bank vest. I'll also await the AppleTV LIVE event or game subscriptions.
-
Meanwhile while everyone talked about Apple and what these guys call innovation we are running hot on Amazons AMZT30
-
Microsoft and Nvidia should team up to flesh out a consumer grade hololens

This looks amazing but also terrifying. One thing that I think is VERY important for future models is to be able to connect to other people's devices so that you really can see and share the same experiences. It would be cool if a friend could see exactly what you are seeing. I don't mean just like a screen copy thing but your headset projecting something into 3D space that appears in the exact space for them as it does for you. I'm not very good at explaining this how I imagine it, but my biggest fear with this is that it will isolate people even more. If they can design and upgrade it in a way that somehow promotes more human interaction then I think that will be a win. Whether this is successful or not, this eventually is the future. It's important to address the social issues early on because if people get to used to it without these social features, they won't want/need them later
-
My guess is this is really targeting the design industry. It doesn't seem overly useful for anything else without peripherals, and it's priced so heavily that it's unlikely that anyone outside of specific industries will see it as worthwhile.
-
The fact that they announced "screen distance" prior to this was also a nice touch 😂
-
is the charging cable removable on the battery pack end?
-
Future enhancements would be how to put the battery somewhere where you dont need a huge wire on your side, maybe make it thinner and smaller so people can see your face more and the obvious that is longer battery life, cheaper price
