Looks like a BEAST of a machine!! Great review 👌

Very simular situation I was in. I finally purchased the Mac Studio base model. I did purchase a Satechi M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure with a WD_BLACK 4TB SN850X NVMe. Using the Thunderbolt port for connection, It's just as fast as the internal drive! I will never go back to the Windows OS. Also, love the quietnes of the Mac!

Solid review! been waiting for this one from you man! I think you've convinced me. WE ARE GETTING ONE
  • Love that table, any link? will deliver enought for a 2 4k 60hz monitors?

Great video! I’m looking into getting a Mac Studio. I have a really good PC, but when I am looking through photos (I’m a wedding and sports photographer so I go through thousands of photos), it struggles. When I cull photos, I like to zoom in and delete or flag as I go through, but with my PC there’s always a few seconds of loading time when I zoom in and zoom out. Do you find this on the Mac Studio?

I Have the same Unit hated the bottom sliding on my desk I fixed this problem by taking a extra mouse pad cut it round and glued it to the bottom Wow did it help.
  • Great review! My M1 Pro is starting to lag just a bit in my video work, and struggles with multitasking at times and I'm thinking about upgrading. Was torn between the M3 Macbook or the Mac Studio. This helped with my decision!

Man, I really want one. My PC is on its last leg. And as far as the new chip goes, it's not all that more powerful than the M2 so yours will have a good few years ahead of itself! Great video my friend
  • @ArminSteiner
right now I am on M1 MacMini but will be upgrading to the Studio later this year. Great setup you are working on, what's the Monitor you are using?

I just got the Mac Studio M2 Max with 64gb and 1tb. I'm coming from a 2020 intel iMac. and its amazing

I wished you would have posted this back in December when you recorded it. I was torn between a refurbished M2 pro mini and a used studio. I went with the refurbished mini just to have the warranty, but wished i would have went with the studio. 16 gigs is not enough!
  • Just got one, base model. And really impatient to get back home to install it 🤗 I am not a pro, but since I keep my macs a long time (my previous MBP lasted 10 years and 7 years), the M2 Max will keep me future proof for my hobby workflow. I could have waited either for the March or June Apple events for the M3 versions, but got one on the refurb store with nearly 20% rebate. I already use external SSD : as fast as the internal ones and much cheaper than Apple options. Great video, thx 👍

I completely agree with your choice, but I say so with bias. I've got the base M1 Studio Max and it's a beast, perfect for my use case.
  • @pianosfilipem
Hey would you wait for M3 max Studio? I heard it's coming out this year
  • @JustBob-sw4rf
Thanks for the excellent top level overview. If people are considering a Mac Mini as a cheaper alternative, they should consider the much higher operating temperature of that machine. Higher operating temperatures shorten the life of electronics. If one is the type who buys a new machine every couple of years that won’t be a problem. But, if you’re hoping to keep the machine for a long time, it should be an important consideration.

I bought a Mac Studio with multiple monitors but kept getting beach balls. I don’t think it’s optimized for multi-monitor support.
