This would be useful for cutting grass between shrubs, flowers, planters, etc. where a regular size riding or push lawn mower wouldn't easily get into, which is usually the same area you'd be weedeating anyway.

That isn't used for cutting the lawn, but trimming around stuff and keeping the grass a uniform length so you don't get these uneven cuts with a standard weedeater. I have one, and it works great. I got all my trimming done, so when I go back with the mower and cut, then everything is uniform length.

It’s a strimmer for cutting edges that your mower can’t get to. Why would you be using it to cut an entire lawn?
