Tilt Brush wasn't running at the resolution I had set it to and opted to use the monitor resolution instead, which kind of broke everything. Thankfully, I still managed to salvage the avatar capture, and the end result doesn't look too terrible. Happy Halloween! Important Note: This does not make me a VTuber and any comments saying that this does make me a VTuber are factually incorrect. EDIT: Gonna do corrections a little early this time around since a lot of people made some really good points, and I want to address them sooner rather than later. Firstly, judging from the comments I've gotten so far, my criticism of Oculus's new tracking seems to have come across as too harsh. I want to reiterate that the majority of users do NOT have issues as bad as what you see in the video, and if they do it's typically only in rare situations. It was not my intention to insinuate that the Quest OR the Rift S has poor tracking. I was mainly trying to highlight the controversy from switching over. On that note, I didn't bother talking about the newer VR revelations (Quest 2) since this was a history video, and I already felt the video was still way too long after the cuts I already made. It may be in my best interest to make a follow-up video in the future addressing this, once I fine-tune this format a bit to make it work a little better. And the big thing I wanted to address: I completely glossed over Windows Mixed Reality! That was the ACTUAL first big implementation of inside-out tracking and was one of THE MOST affordable ways to get into VR! If I go through with the follow-up, I plan to fix this mistake immediately. WMR users, sorry for perpetuating the stereotype that y'all don't exist. 😔
  • "Future me why don't you go ahead and tell everyone which one sounds better!" "They both sound awful." "Yeah it is!" Bless this small channel, truly.
  • And today's out-of-context quote: "Manscaped is cutting 20% off."
  • "Without spending an arm and a leg" Or in your case both legs
  • Plot twist: Tech Rules guy can migrate his eyes back and forth across his face in an insant in real life. Also that’s what he really looks like.

"If i sneeze im probably going to headbutt into technology that is worth more than my life"
  • 1. this is super interesting, and was really well done (ironically) 2. This makes Tech Rules the first gaming history v-tuber.
  • Quote(s) I particularly enjoy: "Gaming used to be a sad, doorless dystopia." "Instead of calling it oculus we should have called it Ocular; Ender of worlds." "If I sneeze, I'm going to headbutt technology that's probably worth more than my life." "Do me a favour- take a look at your eyeballs. *Small Wheeze*" "You don't need me to draw an eyeball for you to know eyeballs are round." "Ever since the first computer was made, people wanted to jump into it." 32:04 - not a quote, I just loved it
  • "sounds awful" [insert normal expression that is relatable]
  • Tech Rules: Talking about the very interesting history of VR Me: giggling at the random eye emotes that pop up on his helmet
  • The increasingly resigned 'happy halloween, everybody' whenever an item is larger than expected... or a *skull*... Seriously though, this is super interesting to hear about. Kudos for handling arceus knows how much setup this must have taken, alongside the research and editing.
  • @ShyplayX
I have to say, I liked the eyes. Even though you couldn’t control them, they still managed to sync up with what you were saying most of the time. And they even got the timing right a lot.
  • Only this guy and summoning salt can make me stop anything just to watch the video
  • @adicsbtw
"who's going to buy those first implementations of it that don't work very well" My school: for some reason had a Cybermaxx VR Headset from 1994 sitting in storage
  • @Ran6ger
“We need to talk about the third major VR headset” holy shit someone’s actually mentioning the WMR headsets proceeds to talk about PSVR “The Oculus Quest was the first big implementation of inside out tracking” -Oculus quest released in May of 2019 with inside out tracking -WMR released in October of 2017 with inside out tracking Bro we exist too stop pretending we don’t we have feelings as well :(
  • i figured my two cents would be drowned out but hey why not, right? this was such a fun video. your charisma and vr and the sillyness of tilt brush was a great combo, and i guess it helps that i kinda like vr.... (lets just ignore my index and almost 200 hours in beat saber) but if you were to do another video in this style i would be so happy! (also more vr talk in general, but i understand that you are more about games and the tech side of them)
