I love how Dark Urge doesn’t sound angry, he sounds terrified, like he genuinely doesn’t want to be the really evil monster he is.
  • @L0ngsword
Dark Urge sounds a lot more desperate than I imagined, I expected him to be completely unapologetic
  • Why can i see a DM be like: ok, lets go around the table and introduce your characters...
  • @Cratmang
So, if I'm understanding everyone correctly... Astarion: Vampire that wants revenge against his master. Lae'zel: I hate mindflayers I hate mindflayers I hate mindflayers I hate mindflayers I hate Gale: Yeah, I'm a coolass wizard who bedded a literal god, no need to praise me... yet. Shadowheart: On a holy quest to deliver a holy D20. Wyll: I accidentally got a pact with a devil and I want out. Karlach: I'm a soldier of hell who wants to go home. The Dark Urge: The voices in my head tell me to kill, and I want them to stop.

the voice acting on the dark urge is 10/10

I really like this setup! It kind of reminds me of how some Greek dramas and Shakespeare plays begin, with a chorus introducing the main characters and telling you where the story will go. The brilliant voice acting certainly helps; I could imagine each of these characters taking center stage in a theater and reciting these lines before an eagerly awaiting audience, then stepping back so the next character can have their turn. All that's missing is the lovely narrator.

I like how the artifact in this game is basically a big D20

That gale story, this MF managed to hook up with a goddess and somehow fumble that relationship
  • @HADEZFIRE147
“My name is Shadowheart. Loyal servant of Shar” scoffs

Okay … Astarion: the veteran player who knows just how much BS the DM will put up with. Lae’zel: The player who’s bursting out of their comfort zone to play a badass character. Gale: the nerdy bookworm who would totally build a robot if he could. Shadowheart: the new player who has no idea how to create a backstory, so the DM made one for her. Wyll: the normally quiet guy who gets bullied, but doesn’t let it dampen his spirits. Karlach: the tomboy punk that people are afraid of, but is a real sweetheart deep down, and can let that softness show around her friends. Maybe defends Wyll’s player from bullies. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Dark Urge: the jock who is also new to the game and had the brilliant idea to play a chaotic evil character that doesn’t know they’re chaotic evil until they fail saving throws.

Man, for how short it is, The Dark Urge's voice acting managed to be one of the most impactful things in a game chock full of impactful things
  • @MrLugoku
After finishing the game i can say i recommed playin'g as the Dark Urge (Plus you can customize him or she)
  • @Karomix3
I like how Astarion has both Intelligence and Wisdom at 13, unlike the others who always have 1 higher than the other, in some other case, one a lot more than the other, suggesting he's one of the most sensible in mind out there, given Lae'Zel has lower wisdom and intelligence, Gale has higher intelligence but lower wisdom, Shadowheart has the opposite of Gale in those as what Gale has in intelligence is her wisdom and what he has in wisdom is her intelligence, Wyll has the same number as Asterion for intelligence but lower wisdom, Karlach also has lower intelligence and wisdom as well, even the dark urge has a few points behind too. Astarion has 200 years backing him up and when he's not the one doing stuff for fun or protect himself he's the first one complaining about how everyone else are weirdos, best seen with an impersonator, where he complains he can't notice if someone's been replaced and half the reason is because they're already all weirdos. XD
  • @Break0fdawn
I thought karlach was gonna be a bad bitch based on what wyll said. But upon meeting, the complete opposite.
  • @EvelynNdenial
so dark urge is a bhaalspawn then? the symbol is right there under him during the cutscene. basically the main character.
  • @inframatic
They really directed that actors to use their hands and arms when they talk, didnt they
  • @uwu-uv4mg
The somber violin that plays in Dark Urge's speech gives me the goosebumps. Such a tragic character
  • @jimstoesz3878
I understand why the Dark Urge is fully customizable, but I really do feel like anything other than the default voice and appearance is a strict downgrade.
