This film was filmed in the Yamal tundra, 100 km from the capital of the Far North, Salekhard.
Nenets nomads live here. These are the small people of Russia. There are about 43 thousand of them left. They live by reindeer herding. Thanks to deer, they have food, shelter, clothing and transportation.
They live in cone-shaped dwellings called chums. It is collected from poles and deer skins. In the center of the dwelling there is a fireplace, with the help of which food is prepared and the tent is heated.
We are interested in learning how our ancestors lived, to study their traditions and to master ancient crafts and meals.
We travel to different regions of Russia and show you how people live in Russian remote villages. Real Village, not embellished real life as it is. We will show you the usual village life and cuisine of different nations.

Я как то недавно смотрела жизнь эскимосов на Аляске. Бедно, грязно, все кастрюли в копоти, грязные. А у вас смотрю женщины молодцы, в таких условиях и вся посуда блестит, чисто, дети ухожены, сами женщины прямо красотки. Дай Боже вам всех благ и здоровья.
