  • It was Johnny Cash himself who specifically wanted Joaquin to play him in the movie. That's the ultimate compliment.
  • @goodpainlive1
He absolutely should have won an Oscar. Incredible performance.
  • @slyjungle4114
For some reason he seems alot more relaxed and comfortable with conan. Not like some of his other interviews. Its nice to see
  • I feel like Conan is the only talk show host who should interview Joaquin. He always seemed more comfortable on Conan's show compared to others.
  • "I can't do the voice anymore"... followed by a PERFECT rendition of the voice
  • @ChrissyFades
Conan is a step above other late night hosts and this is a great example of why. Instead of being negative or dismissive of Joaquin’s eccentricity (the language thing), he embraces it wholeheartedly and encourages Phoenix, making him feel more at home.
  • @TheEnergizer94
Conan is a masterclass on how to entertain antisocial people
  • @em310
Seeing Joaquin actually enjoy an interview is really refreshing. Shows Conan's class.
  • @aaroncicanese
This man is criminally underrated as an actor, everything he’s done is nothing short incredible,
  • @jaycepero8069
They gave Reese Witherspoon an Oscar for a playing a plucky southern girl, which is who she actually is, but ignored this man’s astonishing performance.
  • I gotta be honest, i really liked Joaquins voice, incredible that he sung every song.
  • @WaterxDragon35
I have loved Joaquin Pheonix's acting ability ever since Gladiator.
  • This is one of the few interviews were Mr. Joaquin Phoenix is comfortable. Great work Conan
  • 4:49 that impression of Johnny Cash was incredibly accurate. Not only Joaquin was able to play the young Johnny Cash on Walk the Line, he would be perfect playing the Man in Black during his late years. Such an talented actor
  • @Luxie19
Joaquin truly should’ve won an Oscar for Walk The Line!! 🖤
  • @nookymonster1
This guy is on another level. His Johnny Cash roll was fantastic. After the Joker, there was no possible denial. He is the actor of his generation.
