Your phone is your key, the card is meant to be a backup

I bought a Tesla Model 3 last year and we love it so much that my wife got rid of her ice car and we now have two. Amazing cars with amazing technology.

As for the acceleration, not long after getting a Model 3LR, I was traveling on a very curvy two lane road, and as one would expect, a tanker truck pulled out in the road ahead of me, slowing down my trip considerably. There is only one good straight strip to make a pass before reaching the town I was headed for, and when we got there I took a peek around the truck, saw a clear road, and floored it. I quickly cleared the truck, glanced at the speedometer, and about crapped myself when I saw it read 96 mph, when I had started the pass somewhere between 40 and 45 mph. I took my foot off the accelerator pedal and the regenerative braking was strong enough that I didn't have to touch the brakes in order to go through the rapidly approaching curve in the road. It's so nice having that burst of energy at your command.

One thing about the key card... when you own the Tesla yourself you rarely if ever use it. Your phone is your key and you don't have to put it anywhere! It just needs to be in proximity with Bluetooth on. Great review though! Glad you enjoyed it. I've had mine since Oct 2021 and will never get a petrol car again!

Great video. We love our Model Y Dual Motor. Using the Tesla mobile app, your phone is your key, keycard for emergency. You can use voice commands such as 'warm up my butt' to turn on heated seat etc. Twisty Cumbrian roads are great fun with one pedal driving. Car is fully charged every morning on our drive, no more trips to smelly petrol stations. We've done 2 long trips to Sussex, superchargers were great.

To put in drive one click down. No need to push button in for handbrake it’s automatic when you stop. The push button is designed to use if you park on an incline. Saying that,I do push the park button nearly always. I have had my MY for almost 2 years and love it. A great motorway cruiser. Covered over 16500 miles no problems, no range anxiety, no queuing at chargers. A great car for a family, so much room for everything. autopilot on long motorway drives is a godsend. Nearly 300 miles for under £6 using home off peak electricity. Little or no servicing , ULEZ and congestion free, no road tax, at the moment anyway. All good !

Don't be afraid to buy the white seats. I've had it for years and it's been amazingly resilient.
  • I have owned Tesla since 2020. The phone is your key, the car has on board training videos, there's an icon on the dash that looks like a car, press that and it has access to the glove compartment, windshield wipers and much more. Or use voice commands to open the glove box and anything else. There are levers on the side to lower the rear seats for 75 cubic feet of space. I have long range dual motors and it's my daily driver and long distance travel car. The sound system is awesome and I like the cruise control. I am glad you liked the car, for me everything is second nature to me now.

I drove the new Tesla model 3 a few weeks ago, my first drive in any EV. What an amazing car, I'm a convert and will get rid of my BMW m135i next year and get a Tesla Model 3.

That’s really funny. You’re advertising a dash cam while sitting in a car that has eight cameras recording everything that happens in detail. 😊
  • Just press the scroll button and say "temperature 19°" or "heated seat on" or.... Anything you use when you're driving.

2 years with a Tesla model Y, very happy and software is always getting better.

Thank you Lucy for a great video. You're fun to listen too. I just ordered one! Picking it up Monday!

Bought one 3 weeks ago and it's great. I love tech so I'm not afraid of it being different. Handles fantastic since the center of gravity is so heavy and low plus the acceleration is insane. I've been riding an electric scooter since 2018 so the regen braking isn't a new thing for me to understand but does take a bit getting use to. My father and my neighbor Howard weren't interested. They both complained about it having too much tech and being overly complicated. However they both are in their mid 80's so I get the close mindedness.

Great to see a reviewer for the everyday driver. The general public still knows next to nothing about evs. Thanks!
