Airbnb filed the prospectus for its IPO on November 16, 2020, capping years of speculation that it would go public. At first sight, the timing seems strange, given that the global economy seems to be going into another shutdown. In this session, I look at Airbnb's history, financial and potential market and argue that the timing is right for its IPO. I also value the company's equity at around $36 billion, forming the basis for whether I will be a buyer or seller when the stock does go public.
