  • A big thank you to all of the truckers out there that keep our supplies moving in all sorts of weather!
  • How embarrassing that the guy in the white Ford didnt even know how to use his 4wheel drive!

Thanks for another great video B. I live 3000 miles from this and even I can't wait for warmer weather there. And God bless the truck drivers who are trying so hard to get us the products and food that we depend on.

An SUV trying to pull out an 18-wheeler! That's the height of hubris.

7:50 Unsure why someone would want to ruin a late model Ford Expedition trying to tow a loaded semi?
  • @3oldman
I can't imagine. I appreciate the truckers trying to do their jobs, but don't they ever just watch the weather and park it somewhere and wait? I can't imagine why anyone would drive into that.

I have many unhappy memories getting across Donner Pass..So glad I'm retired. Carry on, guys!

Chains are dangerous for that, they don't stretch much but they still hold a lot of energy. Those tow points are only really for low energy towing of the vehicle, not for hitting 80,000 pounds hanging on the end of a chain. If you are going to do a kinetic recovery, hitting the pull with some speed on, you need a kinetic recovery rope. Yankum, or something similar. Ratchet straps and chains have so little stretch at breaking point that they can easily break because the force needed to stop a 4 ton SUV in half an inch is extremely high.

❤ notice how the person with tire chains went around everyone 😂😂😂
  • @LocanStreet
Its embarrassing watching grown men in 4 wheel drive trucks trying SSSOOOO hard to get going in 2 wheel drive... and remember ICE IS ICE, not even 8 wheel drive will work! Get out, put chains on BEFORE you hurt someone...
  • @plutonium9
7:36 Hold on, where they really using tie downs as a recovery strap?
  • @tallwalls76
Clint had it right. “Man’s just got to know his limitations.”

Looks like my old Beat on Donner Summit. I worked that hill for 18 years and had a blast!!
  • 30 years ago Al Gore said “ our children won’t know what snow is “
  • I used to drive from California to North Dakota and I do not miss those days😮🌫️❄️🌬️💨🌪️🌀🌨️
  • Must have been a nice ice pack. Even the trucks with chains seemed to be stuck in places

Trying to pull a truck with a tie down strap, I bet it left a nice dent in the back of that new Suburban.
  • buddy in the white ford in the clip around 2 minutes had a 4wheel drive truck the whole time and maybe even rear lockers and didnt appear to use any of it for way too long

No wonder shipping has been so bad the entire state of Ca. has seen record storms come in & just getting to work has become an adventure.
