At the time of this report, the Park Fire is burning quite far beyond (north of) Chico--well north of Red Bluff with the fire front approaching being even with Redding. And current containment has been and currently is at 0%, not "near-zero." You can't call a fire consuming 100,000+ acres every 24 hours (500+ square miles burned so far and counting) "contained" in any sense of the word.

The amount of death is unbelievable. All those trees and wildlife, is heartbreaking. The homes lost and lives upended is terrible. I pray for all the people and wildlife. The saddest part is that one person did this . Let that sink in for a minute. A single person did this much chaos and damage.
  • I used to deliver into the Wal-Mart DC in Tehama county. that county is a below average county of small farms and a few big businesses, like distribution centers. losing homes, farms and a major employer will be devastating for the people.

It’s beginning to look a lot like record breaking wildfire season.

I'm praying that everybody will be okay and that the fires stop.

I heard some guy rolled a burning car off a hill to set intentionally??
  • Why dont we have more planes and helicopters? The state has money? Homeowners in forested areas pay 5x as much as they were for insurance than they did before this became an prominent issue. What would the tax burden be to double our cal fire budget? Less than the increased premiums thats for sure!
  • Everybody please stay safe you firegighters are awesome lots of ice cold water and food to nourish your bodies 🗽🇺🇲🙏❤️

I had a beautiful little paid for house on 2 and a half acres near Bass Lake in the Sierra Foothills that I almost lost to the Lake Fire 4 years ago. I planned on retiring there but realized it was probably only a matter of time before it would burn down and didn't want to deal with that risk as I grew older. People who stay there know the risk so don't feel to bad for them. If they lose everything they chose to take that risk knowing full well what could happen any given summer.
