Wow! You can easily become homeless overnight in California.
  • Scary as hell. I couldn't imagine. The people living there of course but also those firefighters so much danger. Pray nothing happens to them like those firefighters in Arizona years ago

This is disastrous. Loss of Life, poor animals, homes, etc. pray they can control it.😢
  • I want to know more about the perpetrator. What was his motive? How many of these forest fires are started by arsons?
  • It may be more than 2 million acres, but definitely not 2 billion.

I lived in Chico 2 years ago, was about to purchase a condo. I changed my mind a week before closing on the deal because I realized Chico is a place surrounded by constant fires! This is 20 minutes away from Paradise Ca, the fire that claimed 70+ lives 6 years ago.
  • I’ll stay right here in New Hampshire. Among the states with the LOWEST occurrences of natural disasters.
  • They say to have 100 feet cleared around your home and have sprinklers on your roof and around your home.
  • "We're here on a ridge line" Really? Where? "Outside of Chico"? That could be anywhere. It could be 100 yards from CSU Chico campus! How about "We're here on a ridge line about 20 miles north east of Chico California"? That informs the public that the fire is dangerous and destructive, but the City of Chico isn't being evacuated at the moment. Thanks for improving the accuracy of your reporting.
  • In times of Peace can't our military be out there helping fight this war on fire. This is getting scary

Other countries do regular strategic controlled fires as prevention and have a much lower wildfire count

They really need to bring logging companies back into California to log in strips to prevent the spread of wildfires. Since Bill Clinton and the Democrats greatly reduced logging in California to protect the spotted owl, there has been more wildfires there than ever.
