I’m a 55 year old mum of three who has decided to do a 50k ultra next year. I did a marathon in 2017 and various 10k’s and half marathons since then. Watching your channel has inspired me so much over the last few years and I am even going to attempt the 4x4x48 at some point. Thank you Fergus so much and good luck!
  • Commenting is not something I do often. Heck, this may be my first comment. But I really feel like thanking you for inspiring and sharing knowledge. I’ve been on my hybrid journey for 6 months now and I’m working towards my first 100K ultra in one month. Keep grinding and I will aswell!
  • You’re an inspiration. Loving the videos and the really positive type of you’re putting forward, so rare on these platforms. Smash the race!

Thank you so much for your story, what an inspiration! Enjoyment and self development while being kind to myself is certainly something I am striving for. Thank you again.

Good luck, you've got this! Currently training for my first ultra and your videos have really helped me. 18 months ago I was 3 stone overweight, very sedentary, struggling with depression and undiagnosed ADHD, recovering from addiction, and coping with having to leave my medical career due to my mental health. I felt like I had failed at life and I hated myself. Running changed my life, especially taking on big, scary, exciting challenges involving a lot of hard work and a leap of faith. It helped me to actually care about myself, and feel proud of myself, and actually want to change. While there were many other factors in my recovery- therapy, medication, family- running is what gave me the mindset I needed to make a change and start learning to value myself. Like you said, the challenge alone isn't going to magically fix your life, but it can help you develop the tools you need. It has helped me redefine failure, and I love constantly learning and exploring the world. After my first ultra I'm applying for a masters course in public health. I can't imagine having the courage and ability to do that without running, consistently training, and taking on scary challenges. Thank you so much for sharing this, and thank you for this channel and all you do. Your words really hit home. Good luck, you've got this, you've already won 💚

Good luck, thank you for sharing your story! I attempted suicide in 2020, very similar to you, didn't leave a note or message, but I live to tell the tale, a few months after this I joined the gym, went on a journey of strength training for 18 months, before bringing running into my routine last year, last week I ran my first 60km ultra marathon, and I have a target of doing my first 100km this year, it's amazing looking back on what could have been, the gym, running, hybrid training has changed my life, and now become a part of me! Your story is inspirational!
  • @RichardMikulskij
Good luck man! Truly inspiring to all of us to tackle big challenges!
  • @wvm7110
Inspiring down to earth video that I can relate to from a point of training for self development and seeing what we can do to be better whilst pushing any ego aside to fit the image we have created for ourselves. Keep it up Fergus!

Good luck chap- My first comment on YouTube but couldn’t pass that video by without saying well done for giving it your all… a foregone conclusion before you even start. Look forward to your next post… whatever news the content brings
  • @ikwilnaarhuis
Good luck Fergus! No matter what happens, you’re an incredible inspiration 💪

End of 2019/start of 2020 I managed to break my drug habit. It took me years to get healthy again and then I found this channel. In May, I have my first Ironman 70.3 (my first triathlon/endurance ever) and you were the one that inspired me to go for it. This video has me so pumped for that start line and whatever happens passed it. Go get'em tiger
  • @uniquefox3145
Enjoy it Fergus! You got this. Even if you dont finish i think this whole community is proud of you!
  • @jonathans1202

  • Enjoy the journey Fergus. Hopefully you find exactly what you seek out there. Cheering for you from Australia. 😊
