"The UK's under there somewhere" 😂 Sums up our spring nicely.

Can you dive more into sunshine hours. I think thats more important to most people than temperature or rain (we dont mind it raining and being a bit chilly if we can see the sun). Over the last year it must be pretty dire.

There's nothing wrong with the preamble. It's a fascinating view of how windsheer works and how a tornado can be developed. Can you look at the pollen forecast and the UV levels expected? How will the weather over America impact us in the coming weeks?

Easily the best weather chanel for the UK. I live in Pennine West Yorkshire. Hail has been a striking feature and yesterday it fell as snow for long enough to accumulate in sheltered spots (like walls and the eves of roofs). Today is very cold but sunny. Its remarkable how varied the weather is in Spring. A couple of years ago we dined outside in March. this year we are still lighting fires to keep warm.
  • Alex I love your preamble and all your weather chat - with respect to everyone, you are my favourite meteorologist. Thank you!
  • "Look Deep into the April face, a change is clearly taking place....Looking for the Summer" April has always been changeable. Im covering my Agapanthus! Weve had snow in April before. Thanks Alex!
  • Great deep dive as always! Well done Met Office team, they are a highlight of the week.
  • @JemCope
We love your deep dives Alex! Always such easily digestible information and much appreciated. Welcome Greg!!
  • Thank you! I often don't understand what causes these meteorological events. You explanations were so illuminating. Good stuff. Have just subscribed.
  • That's the first time anyone has explained how tornadoes are formed. Thanks Alex!! Also over the very wet autumn and winter, at the age og 65, I have scratch built a Radio Control aeroplane complete with no idea what I was doing- so hopefully this Saturday I may (or may not) see it make its maiden flight ( If it flies fine- if not it was fun building it) I will film it whatever happensand will post it anyway!

Better be dryer weather on the cards as i am putting in an official complaint about the wet, windy and cold weather we have had since july last year jk lol
  • Hello Alex! I think you’re my favourite weather presenter of the lot, even as far back as when you were doing the weather for the BBC. I agree your pre ramble speech does go on a bit too long but other than that you present the weather brilliantly! Keep it up mate! Matthew
  • Please do show the stats relating to sunshine hours. Great presentations and enjoy them every Tuesday.

Here in the Midlands the Oak trees are starting to leaf. That's about a month earlier than normal which I think shows what a mild winter and spring we've had.
  • Thank you, Alex. A really engaging and educational presentation.
  • Great presentation as usual, by one of the best presenters there is on TV
  • Thank god there's some drier weather av just finished the west highland way and at the highest point (600m) it was gales and heavy snow. Currently on great Glen way so praying for dry for the next week or so 🙏 😂
