How have you guys been feeling about ranked mode recently? Let me know! I also wanted to clarify that I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud of your achievements in ranked mode, just wanted to go over some problems I have with ranked mode and explain why you shouldn't stress over a silly little rank.

My recipe for having fun and improving at the same time : 1. Play ranked till you feel you’ve reached your comfortable rank range. Should take you just coupla hours. 2. Forget about ranked. Go to quick match and play within that rank range (cause the quick match still has matchmaking, even though its a bit less strict) till you feel like you’re dominating that bracket. 3. Return to ranked, and if you actually improved enough to dominate your current bracket - it will only take you like an hour to rank up. 4. Return to quick match and repeat. Dont sit in ranked 24/7 trying to grind it out. It’s exhausting, it’s triggering and it will burn you out.

I quit ranked a month ago, and I can tell you, the salt levels I encounter when I beat Fujin and Battle Ruler ranks as a Garyu, are so palpable that you could cut it with a dull knife.

Remember guys, not having a high rank allows you to conceal your power level against scouters

I think if you get to purple rank legitimately without no Plugging or cheating, you’re a top-tier player you’re really good. Now that doesn’t mean you’re on professional esports player but you’re still better than like 99% of people. Keep in mind most people don’t even play ranked because they know they’re not good enough and don’t want to lose. So being around 10% of competitor players is really good.

Waiting for them to make plugging an instant loss not playing until then

I played my first ranked matches last night and ran into a plugger who was upset his mindless spam was being beat by my poor launchers and good jabs..
  • @XxPlatinumChief
I've ran into a few pluggers but my journey to flame ruler i definitely enjoyed because I feel I earned it tbh.

Also shoutout to anyone who noticed the thumbnail saying the opposite of my "How Good Is Your Rank In TEKKEN 8" thumbnail lol Its was intentional I thought it would be funny
  • Idk why more people aren't talking about the "no restriction" thing what kind of ranked system has an option for no restriction isn't the whole point of ranked systems to fight people who are the same level as you? Makes ranks mean nothing lol

I'm playing ranked despite the issues but I legitimately don't care about my rank atm because I know anything I lose now I will gain back later once I improve the issues I need to work on. It took me a few weeks to get to this mental stamina, and sometimes the one and dones and pluggers still get to me, but I cope by knowing at the end of the day those guys are just chasing imaginary points and aren't trying to get better at the game so their wins don't bother me too much

As soon as I rank up I finish the set and call it a day…. Then I spend a couple of days training in quick matches - Rinse and repeat. This helps me stay mentally fresh and detached from all the toxicity…. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I ranked up and then got greedy only for it all to come crashing down. Currently at Kishin with Feng and Raijin with Paul - I think rank definitely means something if your doing it the honest way.

I think if most people did the math and added the plugging matches they got to their win/loss they'd still be in the same rank

The only thing that matters to me about playing Ranked is it raises the possibility of running into someone better than me and playing some good Tekken. It would be amazing if they made a lobby system that had different levels of Tekken players. If you're new, go to the beginner lobby. If you think you're pro, go try out a match at the pro lobby. No points, no ranks, just let people choose for themselves and play whatever they think is fun. Just like at a regular arcade. I think this would be a nice addition to Tekken.

Really needed to hear this. Last night I had a rough time on ranked. Ran into 3 cheesing opponents back to freaking back! Was so upset at myself for loosing two out of those 3. And to add insult to injury, they didn’t finished the entire set for me to adapt to the matchup.
  • @FRAAANKYSUUUPER
I play with open rank level, you get substantially less points for a win of a much lower ranked person but more for higher. Most people search for a rank difference of 2 so you mostly match against those. I did it to just try and get a game as much as possible nothing to do with my ranks, but I enjoy playing people of a higher rank so I can typically improve and see what level I need to be personally.
  • @obadboy
Never cared where my rank is, only if I'm improving and having fun with my main. So far I'm doing that. But I understand the problem with pluggers
  • @Jacksterr
Its like so stressful these days I have more fun in playermatch
  • @Beamken
Struggled at garyu for a couple weeks with raven, played around with other characters, labbed and just stopped caring about losing and winning. At tenryu now and fighting purple ranks feel much easier now. A lot of purple ranks still use special style 😂
