  • Hey guys Frank Ó'hÁinle here I've been the scriptwriter for this series and I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all of the support throughout this entire run. I really have appreciated all of your continued views, likes and kind words this wouldn't have been possible without you and I can't wait to share the work we've done on a few exciting upcoming projects with you all. I'll see you on the next one!

It’s always blown my mind how creative Tolkien was. He literally created another world full of lore and it’s own history.
  • @Freesorin837
When it's 1am and you find a 3 hour long documentary about the history of Middle Earth...
  • @rayharvey1581
I really like how Jackson told the crew while filming to treat lotr as a documentary, not friction. Sometimes ones mind can almost believe it is some long lost history.
  • The monumental task of compiling all of this information is nothing short of absolutely brilliant! Bravo! You guys deserve 10 times more subscribers well done!
  • This was nothing short of MONUMENTAL! The production, the writing, the research, the animation, the visualization of strategy, the art work, the narration ALL BRILLIANT! I cannot find more words to describe how great this is, I was blown away!
  • @ice843
Even 20 years on the lotr trilogy still gives me chills When the beacons are lit When theorden reforms for the mumaki Gandalf arrival at helms deep Aragorns speech before the black gates Still get me
  • "King Theoden of Rohan emerged upon a hillock on the edge of the Pelenor fields at the head of 6000 riders of Rohan, where he looked down upon the doom of his age and did not falter despite the immensity of fight which now awaited the aged warrior king" That is undoubtedly the best sentence I have heard on YouTube. I get shivers everytime I hear it. Loved this video, keep up the amazing work ❤❤
  • @AllTheArtsy
My gosh, this must have required so much research to get all the massive, grand battles as well as the tiny off-page skirmishes. Thank you for such amazing content!!!
  • @GinjerNinjer1
I don’t think I’ve had a channel since yours that I’ve enjoyed this much for this long, massive history buff and these videos are an absolute of my day
  • @william7889
Thanks for such a great video. Can't imagine all the work that went into this.
  • @SP-qe3tg
Gotta give it to Sauron, after so many failures dude stayed motivated to get what he wanted. Never got it in the end but I respect the never give up attitude.
  • @jasonlee0290
Tolkien would be so proud of this channel! The fact that he advised everyone who indulged in his works to look at all the stories of Middle-Earth through the eyes of a "historian", you guys took that quite literally. Thank you Wizards & Warriors/Kings & Generals! P.S. You can SUCK IT AMAZON!!
  • Tolkien emphasized the use of maps in his work in an interview and the way this video is presented really shows how much it makes more sense with maps. Really fantastic video, I’m blown away at how much information you were able to extract and present in a concise and detailed manner. Thank you 🙏
  • The fact that Tolkien's work can be broke down this way, says much about how history played a role in the story. Excellent analysis as always. Keep up the great work. I've now watched this 4 times lol.
  • @jakemeyer8188
I hunt for these long form videos, and particularly ones delving into history and various franchise's lore...but finding a 3 hour one on the War of the Ring is easily the greatest I could ever hope to find! HUGE thank you!
  • I'd looong ago read all of Tolkien's books, and of course seen the movies... yet I'm sitting here literally stunned at this MASTERWORKS of everything put together... so much more than I'd dare dreampt of, and with a progressive (and retro) clarity that just fits together perfectly. The detail and inclusion of everything mentioned (or even suggested) in all of Tolkien-ism feels like a liberation. I can't believe it only took 3 hours, and now that its over that was not enough. T H A N K Y O U !
  • @Drewski_ZA
.... MAAAAAN!!!!! That Saruman battle for the Shire at the end of the 3rd age was something I never knew i would need!!! This was brilliant!!
  • @scottkain8977
Dude you even got the hidden events down in the timeline, the off-screen events... This is nothing short of f*cking SAVAGE. Good work boys, I follow both of your channels constantly.
