I love that this channel doesn't put this distracting quote on quote "inspirational" music. That way I can actually hear what the guy's saying and concentrate on his words and their meaning.

This is true for personal life too. You won't know your weaknesses if you're the best in your peer group.
  • Remember friends, the wolf climbing the mountain is hungrier than the wolf who's on top. Stay hungry out there, don't become complacent when you're on top!

Competition reveals your weaknesses to you, when you do not have competition, you won't know where you were weak! Love it

"What is our competitor revealing about our own weaknesses the we can learn to improve." Really well said. A competitor not only bad, but is also a chance to make your product better.
  • "Any participant in any industry can get lazy when there is little change in how that industry operates." Good reminder for educators.

Couldn't find a better advice than this one. I've been experiencing the lazy mode for almost 3 years now as if I have lost purpose and stopped improving myself after my graduation and couldn't understand why I felt the threat suddenly this year, but now I do. Lots of love thank you so much💕💕.

Genius reminds me of a quote that goes like this:"the only constant thing in life is change".
  • That's why you need leaders who listen to their UX designers. The difference is in the experience that user has. Thank you Simon for this great message!

3:10 "now, what is our competitor revealing about our own weaknesses that we can learn to improve?...when you had no competition you didn't know where you were weak"

"Competition reveals your weaknesses for you to work on and play the infinite game!" Best lesson today, thanks Simon!
  • It's tough not to shy away from competition for those exact reasons : exposing your weaknesses. Hower its so rewarding when improvement is earned

That's exactly what I have learnt in my Organization behaviour class today, change is very important, wheather it's in technology or economy. It's inevitable so accept it and adapt according to it
  • @acpgiga
True...just stay humble and teachable, even if you do loose first place, it will never be that far to reach again...

The wisest thing that should be on every wise individual's list is to invest in different stream of income and don't depend on the government to bring in money especially now the pandemic is hitting the economy

3:10: "What is our competitor revealing about our own weaknesses that we can learn to improve?" Such a responsible, empowering question--the complete opposite of a victim mentality.
  • @toolslider7456
I have the opposite problem currently, I have a brand new idea, brand new product and it helps the companies mitigate risk while making the worker's jobs easier and safer but it's not an industry that is accustomed to refinement. If I can get it adopted by state government agencies the trickle down will make it the new normal but it's quite a challenge. Thanks for the wisdom Simon!
  • Really thank you for the video! It shows how good is competition and why is doing nothing, but being angry is pretty much useless!
