As if people don't realize that Gov't is the reason rents are so high to begin with!
  • Our rent went up almost $400- not from landlord greed though. Property insurance on the building tripled! The insurance industry needs to be scrutinized.

Will they cap insurance, and taxes on the property as well?

Rent control only REDUCES the supply of rental space because the cost / benefit gets turned upside down. If you really think rent control is a good idea, how about home SALE control where the govt tells you how much you can charge for your home?

Is he gonna cap landlord expenses at 5%? How does that work?

Reducing taxes would also cap rent increases but the politicians don't want that.

Landlords can only increase 5 percent, but taxes and insurance are allowed to go up 20.

When are they going to cap medical bills? Go to the ER and get a 30 thousand dollar bill, but lets cap rent, and dont forget to forgive student loans! All BS

He can only cap the rent if it's federally subsidized. If it's a private business owner, no govt money, he can't do it.

He's had 4 years to do this. Empty promises.
  • Wow imagine being a native and being priced out of your own state!!!!!!

How about capping spending of money we don’t have and that will stop inflation.

He can try to do it but after all these are private property not subject to government rent control
