Morten adds to the many reviews by pointing out why he believes that the Eversolo DMP-A6 simply HATES music.. or at least your file-based music that is, making him rant on about Asian tech development culture expressed in software , electric cars and understanding WHY you are put on this earth. Learn what Morten thinks is good and.. aheem.. SUCX about the EverSolo. He waited this long for software updates.. but now the gloves are off!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm Mirror from Eversolo Tech. It is really a difficult problem to take into account the ease of use with so many functions in one device. But the success of the A6 lies precisely in its versatility, which gives users more choices, you won't find any other streamer that offers as many connectivity options and features as the AMP-A6.. However, some suggestions in this video are very constructive, such as global search for logged-in music services and libraries. We are planning this feature. And we are considering adding a function: when the source is on another input and the built-in service is played, a pop-up box will prompt the user and provide a quick switch button. Everyone uses their devices differently. We put a lot of effort into DMP-A6 to present so many functions relatively intuitively, and the operation is intuitive. You can use it easily if you know how to use your phone. Anyway, we will always be committed to improving user experience and constantly expanding our product investment and R&D team.

I have both the Eversolo and Bluesound. Sonically the DMP-6 beats the Node hands down. To me sound quality is the most important and essential aspect of a piece of music playback equipment. Ease of use is a personal thing. Don't tell me playing vinyl records on serious setups is a breeze. Yet so many audiophiles enjoy the ritual !
  • @JosephTongret
I appreciate you highlighting all of these short comings. Thank you.
  • Use as little or as much of the features as you want or need. That's on the user. I've been through the Node, The Rose, the A6 ME, and now the A8. It does everything I NEED or WANT, perfectly. AT A PRICE POINT THAT CANNOT BE CRITICIZED. AND THE FACT THEY ARE VERY AGRESSIVE WITH UPDATES MEAN THEY ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO USER FEEDBACK.
  • @InyeW206
I can only laugh. I have the DMP A6 and I LOVE it....when I am not hunt and pecking through the menu! LOL. Once it is playing it sounds pretty, looks pretty, and is in my price range... so few complaints here. Plus I have been ripping my cds and loading them up to the internal SSD i installed. I love being able to connect to the device as a network drive via my desktop on the other side of the house, or laptop from wherever I am at home, and load my music that way. I am able to rip cds from my desk while I work and drop them into the device. Later I just refresh the library and joila! it's basically a NAS drive and I can play those same files via apple music in my office or my laptop. Very convenient. But you are spot on about everything. the VU meters get tiresome after one or two viewings...pure gimmick. The cd player/ripper doesn't work consistently...or at least didn't for several months...not sure if they fixed that...this of course is why I am ripping cds in my offfice. The manual source selection is a big pain along with the slow indexing. So plenty of issues, buuut....none of my ex-wives or girlfriends were perfect, so I guess I shouldn't expect more from my audio gear than my lovers....at least that is my rationale.
  • I own the DMP-A6 and use it everyday. It's a great product. All I hear from this guy is Pick, Pick, Pick! Come on...the product has only been on the market for a short period of time. Sure it's packed with features, and I agree the designers don't need to make the product more complex. But give it time. The software programmers will eventually make the product more user friendly and a more mature user experience. Maybe it was rushed to market too quickly? How many other products could you say the same thing about? Eventually the product will prove itself worthy. People are too impatient I find. I really enjoy the DMP-A6, and to my ears, sounds great.
  • @isaacsykes3
I'm currently running the A6 and love it so much that I'm going to buy the A8, and I haven't had any of the issues that you referenced. My music is locally stored on my NAS (Qnap), the only variances that I encounter are all related to the server app that chose to deliver my music. That said, thanks for the review. Unlike the other reviews of yours that I watched, this one (to me) seemed personal, which I hope isn't/wasn't the case. You didn't even go off on the Cocktail Audio or Technics this viercely, and the users' experience seemed to be worse on those products based on what you demonstrated.
  • @edbrumbaugh9202
Thanks for your review. I'm running an Eversolo DMP-A8 ... honestly, I don't have any of the issues you're highlighting. I really enjoy using it and am glad to have it in my system.
  • @Olivier_Debats
Why are you the only guy in the industry who tells the truth about user's interface ? It's the reason why i subscribed to your channel after only one video seen 💥👌
  • 6 months or so user of the A6. I have nothing to say but agree with this review. It is an odd monster! But it is my monster and I like its character! At the end of the day it always does what it has to do and more. All that for 850 Euros. Take my money! Never had so much fun with Hifi for so little!
  • @TheMightyMe80
This device is amazing… great build quality, and very easy to use. The App is very simple and very easy to use… The sound is great… very wide stage …. It’s like 1000 times better than my old node 130 At the end, I just care about the sound…. The other things worked just fine.
  • Very well done. This is the first review I see that goes deep in the core of actually using this device and showing the shortcomings. This is what we need, an actual honest review. Thank you for this.
  • @phonatic
Honest and very professional, well done! These days it is so important to call out on design flaws instead of being used (as most reviewers unfortunately are) as a cheap extension of the marketing department. 👍
  • @NosTubes58
Basically while I can only speak for myself……, I chose to use this primarily as a means of having my own music placed within the unit itself, as streaming just doesn’t do much for me, so adding a 4TB NVMe 2 SSD is definitely more in line with what’s needed on my end.
  • @RPalmieri
Very good review. Exactly the info I was looking for. Disapointing how it works from the local ssd. That should be blazing fast. Will not buy it until fixed
  • @jankaas2760
Using the search function to find an album on the sony and then comparing it to scrolling trough the eversolo is not fair. And then calling it sickening after it loaded within a second of using the search on the eversolo is even worse.
  • @Audiorevue
This is the first time I've watched one of your whole videos and actually I'm quite impressed. You know you're assessment of this device is essentially why I have continued to stay with the blue sound node. I've tried other devices, from the likes of iFi audio,Lumin and aurender and I just keep coming back to the blue sound. I mean sure some of these devices particularly the lumin do sound better than the blue sound but at what cost. I'm with you buddy, I've been into Hi-Fi for about 10 years and the more and more that time goes on the more I simply want to press one button or switch and have my system play the music that I want. I don't want to have to dig through 15 different menu selections and three different apps on my phone just to play a Miles Davis album. Anyway you can count me as a new subscriber, and I appreciate the work and thoughtfulness that you put into this video. One last question, are you Dutch? I only ask because I'm curious.
  • @-dAtA-TRoN-
Great Video 🫶🏼. Question: Does the slower indexing only apply during the initial intake of audio files, or does occasional re-indexing also occur? And if one desires such a jack-of-all-trades after all, what alternatives to the A8 are there that excel in the points you criticized?
  • I am an electronic engineer and i love complexity. Eversolo 4ever !
  • @ericjohnson829
I owned the DMP-A6 and I never recall ever wanting the device to provide a music discovery engine, I let the streaming apps tend to that. Of course there were frustrating things, some of which you pointed out, but overall, the sound and display was what I enjoyed.
