Since the recording of this review, firmware v1.2.50 has been released and now allows for adjustment of the parametric EQ frequencies so you can customise to your heart's content. Enjoy!

I was watching another audio file person, found you! You definitely went into the depths that’s what I want to know. I appreciate this, others don’t get inside. Thank you.

I just want to take a moment and thank you for your quality content. It is much appreciated!
  • @EricBurbeck
Incredibly informative and polished review. Thank you so much!
  • @richardf2209
Thank you for the great & thorough review of the A8. You definitely have me thinking more about a purchase. I also wanted to put in a request for a "how to" video on producing your own convolution filters. Lastly, I am a big fan of your reviews. You seem to listen for and value many of the same things I do when listening to and enjoying music. I watched your short video on reviewers and their acceptance or rejection of equipment and/or money before this video. For me, it really gave me much more insight on your approach to reviewing and showed a side of you as a reviewer that is not often seen from other audio reviewers. It was truly refreshing and added substantially more credibility, honesty, and gravitas to you as a reviewer and your reviews, as well. Thank you for your excellent reviews. They have really helped me on my audio journey.

Finally, not just another 'glowing', but an honest not run-of-the-mill review. Thumb up and thanks 🙂
  • @mjmonjure
Yes, please do a detailed walk through of the the DSP and/or convolution filters🤗
  • @ketubeck7718
Great review!!!!! Very informative and easy to understand great 👍👍
  • @drivingdan55
Thank you for another great review. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I am very interested in how to make FIR filters. I'm ordering a Umic-1 now.
  • @rm-mastering
Great video and very extensive description of the features. I own the RME ADI 2 pro for the shear fact of DSP functionality as I require something portable with extensive configarability for my work, ok DMP A8 is biased for home audio but yes the DSP is the game changer for me on room correction alone. Thank you very much indeed for your honesty and opinions.
  • @mfisher702
Excited to soak up your pending video on FIR and filters. I need this. Thanks.
  • @rockman22
Also, I absolutely love that there is a loudness feature. For metal music, getting the v shape in the sound is really important to me, its what I would be trying to do with the PEQ anyway so thats really awesome that its included, with 4 intensity levels to boot. This box is on my very short list for a future upgrade.
  • @alextruong3001
Thank you for reviewing Eversolo A8. I have A6 and am thinking of switching to A8
  • @aceofspades6667
Fantastic review lanchlan you pretty much covered all of the bases and questions that I had on the onset. You gave it a pretty balanced assessment on functionality and performance. I would lean toward the separates route and personally would choose a stand alone pre amp for my 2 channel and headphone chains. A solid pre amp is a great investment and makes everything in the chain better.
  • @lukedodd3580
Thanks for the review, I love my DMP A8 as someone getting back into digital, and upgrading from CD transport and old Weiss DAC2. The A8 is giving me plenty of options to test and learn, whilst producing very nice sound, whilst it may not be the best preamp, coupled with my McCormack DNA 500 power amp, Whatmough and BW 804 speakers gives me plenty to experiment with. Would love to see you produce a video on DSP.
  • @edbrumbaugh9202
Great review, thank you. Just ordered (preorder) the A8 yesterday. I would be interested in a video on working with the various aspects of the DSP capabilities in the A8. Thanks again.
  • @madds6678
Excellent review I was looking forward to the A8 review as whether to upgrade my A6 master edition the DSP function certainly has me interested but for the moment I’ll keep enjoying the A6 & wait to see if a master edition comes out of the A8.
  • @kafkaworkshere
Stellar review! I own the A6, which I'm only using as a streamer with a phone-sized display and a decent remote control via my smartphone. I running it with the Qutest/SBooster and Wandla as alternative DACs and then the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos amp and power supply. If I upgrade to the A8, it will be to get an upgraded streamer and DSP.
