DMP-A6 owner here. Overall this is a fair review for your main audience looking for the best sound for as little buck as possible. You made some good points that are certainly well worth consideration in that sector. However, I respectfully don't think this is the target market that Eversolo is going for. Where this product utterly excels is as a streamer into a higher end dac. It scales superbly well in that regard and, as other reviews have mentioned, it sonically beats much higher priced competition in that use case. I also think the majority of owners will be two channel folk like myself, even if using DSD, so the HDMI multichannel thing is not a box we feel the need to tick. Furthermore, I suspect this is likely the first in a line of streamers from Eversolo, so more feature rich inputs and indeed outputs will probably follow. In my own situation, however, I dont think I've ever been more impressed with a value proposition in almost 40 years in this hobby.

Great review..yup..operating simplicity and sound .. I went with the Wiim Pro and a Topping E50 DAC ( for all my digital audio decoding) 😎 Great review 👍 Have a great weekend 👍☕️🍕🥓🔥

As an owner of the WiiM Pro, Mini, Bluesound Node 2021 version, Geshelli labs J2 AKM. ETC. Eversolo DMP-A6. Eversolo wins in so many categories. I get it, If you are strapped for cash then WiiM is definitely fine. But no mistake about it, the DMP A6 is a much better all around device with a greater feature set and better build quality that you will have to pay for. Especially considering the nearest comparable competitor the hi-Fi rose is so much more expensive. The DMP-A6 is a great value in its own right for the feature set that you are paying for in my opinion. I do like and actively use both daily though. WiiM had some Roon bugs initially as well, but seems to have been corrected. You can’t go wrong with either.

I’m using Amazon music on the DMP-A6 without any problems. It came on it straight out of the box. 🤷🏻‍♂️… the eARC is a missing link indeed. But the over all quality is way better than lots of more expensive streamers I know. I was waiting long time for a streamer like that. Display, connectivity and sound quality are way above average. The reaction time of the touch display is without any delay. Another cool thing is that you have that cast mode which mirrors display on the Eversolo with the cell phone display. Handling that thing works intuitive. But what I like the most is that you don’t necessarily need to use you’re cell phone to use it. I bought the remote for $15 and have the display… that’s all I need. A wonderful stand alone streaming dac with only that one missing eARC connection that I can deal without.

I’m brand new to streaming, and have the eversolo, firstly it sounds pretty dang good with Spotify, and tidal… still learning… what I do like with the screen is that I can SEE the other choices listed on the screen and I can walk away and it plays music for me…I listen to real jazz, fusion , classical, traditional rock and it’s so nice to let the service pick out music I’ve never heard before!
  • @jeffwhitehead6268
I only got into streaming music into my main system with a Wiim Pro 9 months ago thanks to CAM. Had that running to a Topping DAC and into my main rig. It was nice and a little better sound quality than I expected. The option for plugging in a 2 or 4TB SSD directly into the EverSolo (i have a huge Hi-area music catalog), along with its build quality, looks, and early reviews got me to bite. Quickly downloaded the Amazon Music app (a little sluggish at times, but easy to use with the EverSolo app Cast feature on my phone) and WOW! Significantly better sound than the Wiim Pro. Much better bass extension, less harsh on the top. Might an EverSolo DNP-A6 using the Geshelli Labs J2 sound better? It might, but I’m trying to finish a separated system and will have to wait. The bottom line is everything I have played on Amazon Music thru the EverSolo so far has been at 192kHz and sounded phenomenal. I honestly never thought streaming could sound this good, and I am enjoying music more than ever, a lot more often. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
  • @69leehammond
Also you can add an SSD to the underside, and store music on the device. And even rip CD's to it. Which is nice 🤘🤘
  • I had a Wiim Pro Plus going into a Schiit Modi+ first. Once I got the DMP-A6, I moved the Wiim to my office and use the A6 on my living room system. I like the sound of the built in dac on the A6 better and use it for my CD player also. (CD player to the coax in on the A6). I ripped all of my CDs to a 2TB drive on the A6 using a $35 USB CD drive. Worked great.
  • Thanks for the great review and much explanation … I have watch more than 30 videos on Eversolo a6 but never come across such an in-depth mostly using it with a receiver … Now that I know it can be connected to a receiver more like my home theater setup it’s about time to finally make a purchase .. Thank you Sir
  • @johnnyr7791
I’ve had the Eversolo DMP-A6 for about a month now and love it! I like having the screen than not having one, especially one that looks this good. I compared it to the bluesond node 3 I already had, the Eversolo sounded much better. Also, compared it to the WiiM pro connected to Schiit modi, once again the Eversolo easily sounded better. I use Qobuz mostly, but really like having Apple music natively on the Eversolo that plays hi-res, instead of using airplay. Eversolo should have included the $12 remote in the box is the only con for me.
  • @MrRonnmaui
Thanks, I have watched many videos on the Eversolo and no-one else mentioned the Amazon streaming issue? Using the Bluesound Nodi for years and very happy except small issues, In fact I have (3) Nodi units with (3) separate systems that I can play together if needed. NICE feature.
  • @adsph
Well done Randy. Needed to hear your take and I did. Very celebrated product. Yet still good be able to assemble options at better pricing points. All the best.
  • @adsph
Had to watch this one again. So much content and detail. Streamers and dac’s are still a little new to me. However learning more everyday about them.
  • @Doughny
I really hope a company will make a streamer + dac like the eversolo with room correction and HDMI e-arc. That would really be the dream!
  • @Simon_Hawkshaw
Very informative and helpful review, and thanks to Bob for stepping up to help us all. I think I don't yet have a need for a streamer, but I may be wrong. 😂 I'll stick to my PC/NAS and ripped CDs for my 'streaming'. Thank you for your time and effort sharing this with us all. Have a great weekend, brother.
  • @colanitower
The SSD slot at the bottom is a nice option to use it as a player/DAC without need of network
  • @SteveWille
I think there is a software opportunity for WiiM to provide a way to dedicate an old tablet or phone as a “permanent” touch display interface for their products and then compete with built-in display products like the Eversolo at a fraction of the cost.
  • @agustinpaz1530
I don't know why we don't have a product that is ONLY a streamer with a screen. They always have to attach a DAC or something that elevates the cost. I will buy something like a DMP A6 without the DACs inside without thinking about it. I only want to see the album art on the screen, nothing else haha
