  • Somedays I think about how Drakengard sponsored a WWE show
  • @Gardiz_YT
50 minutes of Thor talking about Cavia... We're blessed
  • @Cvit
I love Cavia, they’re one of the most underrated studios of the 6th gen right there with Red Entertainment. Constantly putting out weird experimental 6-7/10s. Still sad we never got their final game Cry On, one of the many what could have beens
  • I cannot stress enough how much i love your clashing colors and popart style aestetic. A normal man would have just shown the wiki list for cavia's publishing timeline but you went the exstra mile and made the red and blue fever dream love it
  • @goatbone
Bullet Witch needs a crossover with Disaster Report where you are in a crumbling city being chased by a witch who can destroy anything.

Probably the most unique and interesting gaming channel. Keep up the good work Thor.
  • The Drakengard games will always stay with me for how dark they are, they were my first games as a teen where I saw games tackle seriously messed up issues, including various taboos, which started showing me the video games as a whole could be a serious artistic medium and not just "things kids and teens played" (which was a common thought back then)

I have been wanting someone to cover Covia. Such an interesting studio that I got into during the 360 era.

  • RIP CAVIA, they were one of my favorite studios and their jank will not be forgotten.

"A soundtrack to Caim's brain." Well put. drakengard ost is my favorite glitchstep album
  • NieR:Replicant/Gestalt is my favorite game of all time, but out of all Yoko Taro’s games... I don’t think about any of them as much as I do Drakengard 1. There’s nothing beautiful, meaningful, sympathetic about the entire game. It’s nothing but vile, grotesque, and... quirky. Very quirky, but I kind of love it? maybe it’s just the whole atmosphere for me, it’s impeccable. The soundtrack. Cutscenes. And it’s endings are iconic. B, E, and in my opinion, especially D are some of my favorite endings in gaming. Drakengard’s 20th anniversary is next year, I hope it gets a remaster. With all the games getting (occasionally pointless) remasters now I’m just hoping my favorite stupid edgy drakenjosh game gets its chance, too.
  • @KOTEBANAROT
The drakengard soundtrack isnt cut from samples, its orchestral, why do people keep thinking its not, it literally credits an entire tokyo orchestra
  • Cavia also did ghost in the shell stand alone complex for PS2 that game was a banger clunky but so much atmosphere
  • @CaseFace5
Dead Aim was weirdly one of the first RE games I completed entirely by myself when I was younger. Weird bit of nostalgia for that one.
  • I loved bullet witch! It was caked in jank and goo but under all of that was a real gem. Great style, scale, and awwwwwwful voice acting.
  • @FrDougal9000
Very good video. I never played Bullet Witch, but I love how much you talked about Bullet Witch. My jaw fucking dropped at the building explosions and rubble flying everywhere - I love that kind of destructible environment stuff in games like Earth Defence Force, Otogi or the DBZ Tenkaichi games, and this is such a wicked cool extreme example of that. AND IT'S ON PC?! Why have I only just learned this?! I was also immensely pleased when you were talking about the music for Drakengard. As you were discussing the emotional state of the music, I was thinking to myself "hmm, maybe the music in Drakengard is scoring things from how Caim sees things", and then you said the music could be the music in Caim's brain. What a fucking mind-meld, heck yeah.
  • I'm fucking crying. I've played NieR Gestalt looong before automata was a thing, and it destroyed me to see it be buried under automata's big ass androids or whatever. It only got somewhat little recognition after that big replicant remake was anounced. For me it was one of the comfiest experiencest ever. Going around town meeting people and doing their quests, even the fishing ones. Just strolling around with the music which could easily go from chill to combat dynamicly and still fit the whole atmosphere it was going for. Lol sry for goshing, but it was about time gestalt got some recognition.
  • Yeeeees finally I got an ally in my "Drakengard 1 is bad, but with intent" grand unifying theory.
