My favorite thing about this first episode is how efficient and natural it makes a lot of the exposition. A quick line or two between a pair of characters and you INSTANTLY get where they stand with each other. The entire Scratch scene is probably the best example of this. You could probably take that scene out of context and show it to someone and it'd stand on it's own as a self contained short.

I highly reccomend watching with subtitles, especially in the first encounter with Scratch, the montauge, and in the final fight scene. 21:14 “ Ricket crying like a BITCH ” Is one of my favorite quotes from the episode, and its not even said outloud

One thing I hadn't quite noticed before is how Beebs seems to genuinely be having a good time during the first encounter with Ricket and the gang, even teasing them a bit at the end. Which ends up following on the second encounter. Despite looking like the "gentle giant" character, he's actually a bit more complex than he let's on, he enjoys the action just as much- he's just a biiit more responsible than Shrike. I love the way the characterization of the characters is presented in subtle ways like that!

Such a nice detail that the characters that have lived with no gravity for a while is used to it while the rest aren't.

You took the manic energy of EarthWorm Jim and placed it in a character that is actually competent. The second I saw his face and heard his voice, I got nervous that he was just going to be the annoying funny man, but no. You made him into a really fun character with a voice that fits his fits of mania.

God the animation is just amazing, the smears, the expressions, it's just oozes late 90s early 2000s fun.

Give Monkey Wrench credit: they accepted a dangerous contract for a fraction of the worth of the bounty, then proceeded to succeed on the assignment despite being assaulted by numerous hunters, to only be denied signage when an ELITE ASSASSIN interferes... and even then, only barely!

I like the way how monkey wrench is dofferent from other shows, doesn't focus soo much on profanity
