Some peope are asking " The blind soldier" version is the sequel after "The Stone Kingdom"? Not really. Actually, when I was drawing the story of Medusa and the blind soldier in 2017, I didn't complete Medusa’s past very well. So I didn`t post it on Youtube, make sure people didn`t confuse them. but you can read it on my facebook👇 reurl.cc/ka2Dqx So they`re not the same series. You can think of it as a story from another "What if".🐍

I love how the soldier doesn't die in a heroic pose like the hero he thinks he is. He dies being petrified by his own weapon, desperately crawling away from it. Really poetic.
  • I find it heartbreakingly sad that she becomes the monster everyone thought she was. Having lost everything, she becomes what others made her to be.
  • A beautiful story about a girl who has no one to love because she was born with a curse, and a man who has no one to love because he wanted the power of the curse for himself.

I know this isn't supposed to be a story with a happy ending where things work out well for her, but man, I still just want to give her a hug! It'll be my headcannon that she someday meets someone blind and can live a happy life together.
  • @Zephirite.
That ending seemed almost....ominous. Like Medusa had to give into the savagery of her enemies a bit, just so she could smile at the closest to 'peace' she might ever get.
  • I love the character/personalities of each of the snakes. They aren’t generic, mindless or bending to Medusa’s will. They are their own organism separate to her. When they are not eating people, biting them, or turning them into stone, they actually seem like good sidekicks, good friends, very goofy too 😂

That quick glance at what the soldier’s cataract-affected eye would see is so cool, especially for someone like me who was born with a cataract in the same eye and have never had full vision.

I’m sad there’s no happy ending, but I realize that’s the point. Medusa’s tale was never meant to be happy and cute. It was and forever will be a devastating tale. I enjoyed your take on it, the retelling, and your art style was beautiful. Thank you for this.
  • I admire the fact that you don't really care about how long it takes, you only care about creating a good story❤
  • I love that it doesn't matter what language you speak, everyone can enjoy the story.

You are such a talented person, I'm actually crying rn. Medusa never deserved any of this. Her mother, her parent-like cobra, her lover(blind soldier), all died. Her snakes are trying their best, but they can't help it if their rage, instincts, and hunger take over. This is a really sad, really good story, please make more!!💚

This version of Perseus is honestly growing on me. He's ruthless and intimidating but there's still enough humanity in him for us to show him sympathy, he's kinda giving me similar vibes to Dracula from the Castlevania TV show

I'm glad to finally see Medusa seen as a more troubled relatable person and not just a straight up villain for once. Her backstory is so tragic. And I love how beautiful she looks in your art style

the fact that I'm so invested in this. I've always loved the story of medusa and seeing you put your own twist on the story as well as giving her such depth, it's just, mwah chefs kiss. she never wanted to hurt anyone and when she saw that he was using this power for bad she knew she had to stop him. I love the hidden warning you added as well with his wife wanting to leave him. even if she truly loved him, she knew how bad he would become and how his heart had turned to stone (pun intended), and she knew she could do nothing to help him. I think that's why in the end she didn't go to his side and instead she left him there, turning her back on him and walking away, and when he saw that he realized how horrible and evil he had become, that's why we see him giving in. wonderful piece, I'm excited to see what you do in the future! <3

I came into this expecting an animation, not a slide show with music... BUT I AM IN NO WAY LEAVING DISAPPOINTED! I'd never even thought of telling stories like this! I loved it!

I really like the Kings design. He's drawn like a good guy. Every time he looks happy it feels genuine, not like he's enjoying other peoples pain or anything. It makes the whole story feel like a tragedy. He had opportunities to be good. But every time, he chose to do evil. And that brought destruction on everything he cared about.
  • @Savagewolver
While she wasn’t meant to be, the Gorgon sisters were just another series of monsters birthed by Medusa, I’ve always loved how people reinterpret Medusa as a tragic hero, often letting her live past her bout with Perseus either through magic or Perseus being merciful. This version where Perseus turns into a violent tyrant is no less interesting.
  • A very beautiful story, well done Loved your interpretation of Perseus. A proclaimed hero, acting much more like a monster than Medusa herself. In a way, as much as we scorn the wolves for hunting man, we ourselves can be much more cruel.
