The Doorsโ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger โ a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Don't want to take away credit from Jim Morrison, he was a genius of his time, but the Doors just wouldn't be the Doors without Manzarek's masterful key playing. His playing makes this and the rest of their music instantly recognizable.

Adding the "rain effect" made this a timeless classic. Deep, dark, poetic with tragedy and hope all infused. Love it
-
Man, The Doors are timeless. Pure Rock n Roll.
-
Robbie Krieger - probably the most underrated guitar player ever. Every riff a masterstroke.

This incredible masterpiece by the doors just makes me want to get in a car on a dark and rainy night in the middle of the summer and just drive through the back roads of America to get away from all my problems and just experience things i have never experienced before. I just want to live.

It isn't that strange to be a loner. It isn't that lonely to be a stranger either.

No fucking words can describe the magical feeling of this song.... So much darkness, love, and romance.

It's fall, 2021. Was sitting in my truck right next to the beach in Ocean Beach, Ca. I could hear the waves and there was a wicked lightning storm all around that night. This song was playing and for a few minutes, it was synchronicity.
-

Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out alone Riders on the storm There's a killer on the road His brain is squirmin' like a toad Take a long holiday Let your children play If ya give this man a ride Sweet memory will die Killer on the road, yeah Girl, ya gotta love your man Girl, ya gotta love your man Take him by the hand Make him understand The world on you depends Our life will never end Gotta love your man, yeah Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out on loan Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm

The Doors are the gold standard for the best in American rock music, and this song is arguably their pinnacle. Also, it's the final song on their final album. What a final statement!

Doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, if this song comes on the radio it stops me in my tracks and I just HAVE to listen to the very last rain drenched chord - and no other song I've ever heard makes me do that. Pathos has never been so perfectly put to music.

I met Ray Manzarek in an Ace Hardware in St. Helena Ca in the early 2000's. I didn't recognize him and while we were standing in line, I said "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Ray Manzarek?" He replied: "Yes, my wife says that all the time." Great memory.

Great Music never dies. This is one that never will.

I remember listening to this on my dad's old vinyls in the basement as a kid... Now me and my 10 year old are listening while we wait for school to start.

Without a doubt my favorite Doors song
