Here are the official The Animals House Of The Rising Sun / House Of The Rising Sun The Animals Lyrics:
[Chorus]
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

[Verse 1]
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

[Verse2]
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time he'll be satisfied
Is when he's all drunk

[Organ Solo]

[Verse 3]
Oh, mother, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

[Verse 4]
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

[Chorus]
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

In 100 years this song and video will still be viewed as perfect.
  • They don't need to dance around to produce a spectacle - their music speaks for itself. A timeless classic

That old, old voice coming from such a young face, just incredible. I remember when this song first came out and it still blows me away today.
  • I love how his voice begins in one octave and then suddenly adjusts to shocking higher and than lower pitches, and how the guitars follow each other in perfect rhythm and harmony, perfect song.

This song has been covered many times by many artists — but nobody has ever done it better than this.

I saw the Animals perform this in 1964 in The Marquee Wardour Street London ! was 17 years of age and 4 feet away from the group! Blown away! O Happy Days!
  • The guitarist couldn’t help but smile at the end bc he knows they killed it live. 👌🏽👌🏽
