  • Started with 158/99. Did the exercise three times for a total of six minutes. Last reading was 120/74. Fantastic!!! Thank you so much.

I've had slightly high BP for years, and recently got a BP as high as 150/95 or so due to stress and lack of exercise + improper diet. I started exercising a bit, cut way down on sodium/salt, adjusted my diet, and used this video after trying about a dozen others. This breathing technique and this music/visual cue has helped me relax and consistently achieve way better results than I do at the doctor's office (White Coat Syndrome gang, unite!). Over the course of about a month I've gone down from a height of 165-ish / 90-ish, down to as low as 101/66. I am not saying that THIS ALONE will suddenly "cure" your high BP - but it's certainly helpful in relaxing. I find it's best to use it away from stimulants (coffee etc.), and to go through this video 2-3 times before measuring your BP. Big thanks to Dmitri for sharing this with us. I've probably watched this 100x already.

I just tried this exercise once, and my numbers went from 140/95 to 115/84. This works!
  • @frankwhyte718
178/118 down to 135/85. Two rounds of the breathing exercises. This works! Thank you❤

I've been doing this breathing technique for two weeks and in that time I have tested my BP 28 times; twice in the morning and twice in the evening on 7 separate days. On only two occasions was my BP higher on the second reading, ie having done the 2 minute breathing exercise first. So I am cautiously optimistic! In most cases there is quite a substantial drop, tonight 153/103, then after the breathing exercise 139/92. So I intend keeping this up! Along with plenty of cycling and watching my diet. Thank you.
  • Thank you so much! This practice has made a dramatic difference to my experience of taking my blood pressure. Firstly it works! And secondly it has helped me get over my fear of taking it. I do the two minutes and then start taking my blood pressure while then distracting myself by listening to some inspirational podcast on my iPad. This seems to also encourage my breath to be more relaxed. After years of white coat hypertension even when taking my blood pressure at home I finally feel on the road to getting an accurate picture rather than just a fear reaction to the whole process. Thank you so much again, extremely grateful.

I've tried using breathing techniques to lower my blood pressure before but I always lose concentration. This actually helped me breathe properly and uninterrupted.
