The Netherlands came from behind to break Brazilian hearts and take a huge step towards a third FIFA World Cup™ final appearance. Trailing at half-time to Robinho's early goal in Port Elizabeth, Bert van Marwijk's men drew level before Wesley Sneijder scored his second of the game with 22 minutes remaining.

Brazil ended the game a man short after Felipe Melo's dismissal as Brazil saw their dream of a sixth world crown dismantled at the quarter-final stage.

  • I'm Brazilian and I can't fathom how the Netherlands, being such a tiny country, produces such phenomenal players. Holland needs to win a WC, it's long overdue.

    The Netherlands - Brazil has always been an interesting match-up. 1974, 1994, 1998, 2010, 2014 were amazing.

Nice game. I have to say, that the Netherlands plays over all the years mostly a very attractive football. I wish, the time will come that you also win the WC. All in all you deserve it. That's coming from a german.

That Dirk Kuyt guy is so underrated, he sets up so many goals and even averts danger for the team. He made the difference in this game.
