I lost my father 2 days ago. I will be playing this song at his celebration of life. At 34 years old I am to young to lose my father let alone my mentor and best friend. RIP to all the fathers who have sons and daughters listening to this song.

Lyrics: Daddy, what’s that mean, that little turtle and a rabbit He sat me in that seat, showed me the wheel and how to grab it He said I’ll work the pedals if you climb up on my knee I’ll take you with me A few years down the road Packing a cooler and a sandwich Clinging to his leg, guess he could tell I couldn’t stand it He said go hug your Mama and I’ll go grab my keys I’ll take you with me If it was up to me we’d do everything together And when you’re young like that You think those days last forever Didn’t know back then how much those words would mean I’ll take you with me I remember one time me and him was turnin’ wrenches He kept a couple cold ones tucked away for when we fixed it He said let’s sneak out back so your Mama doesn’t see I’ll take you with me If it was up to me we’d do everything together And when you’re young like that You think those days last forever Didn’t know back then how much those words would mean I’ll take you with me I got a youngin’ of my own He’s too young to understand it When he gets a little older Watching the stage where I’m standing He’ll know it’s about him when he hears me sing I’ll take you with me If it was up to me we’d do everything together And when they’re young like that Those days, they don’t last forever So every chance I get you best believe I’ll take you with me I’ll take you with me I’ll take you with me
  • In a few days, I will be an agricultural engineer. I dedicated this path to my father, he passed away in 2015, and this song falls right into place . Thanks Combs from Italy
  • Lost my dad in Sept 2021 when Covid was still surging. It’s these intricate messages through song that heal the wounds of millions globally. At 42 at the time of his passing I was grateful for being allowed the time spent. Thanks Luke.

I lost my dad in 2020 and Luke Combs music definitely got me thru it then and now! This song definitely hits different!
  • This hits me in my feels. My dad ran away when my mom said she was pregnant with me. Packed his whole apartment up over night and left. 34 years old & never met him and dont even know what he looks like. I applaud any dad thats around and gives their all to their kids

I lost my father last Thanksgiving. He was 62 years old with picks disease and bad case of stomach cancer, and nothing has ever been harder on me as a 20-year old young man in construction, than to help my dad through all the sickness and take over the reins of our family farm. Now he's gonna have a grandson this September. I know he's looking down, happy at what he sees.

Once in a lifetime artist here. Blessed to be in this era. A masterpiece again.
  • I absolutely love listening to Luke, he is truly a country music singer. So many of the young musicians who say they are country are not. Keep it up Luke💜💜

This is a fantastically written song which so simply encapsulates the relationship between a father and his children. Thank you, Luke.

The word for Luke is GREAT! Love this song, what a tribute to his son and all the others to come. This man deserves all the happiness he has in his life. He has worked hard for everything he has.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. My dad has not passed away, but he has dementia and Parkinson's. So he is not the man I once knew and this song broke my heart and mended it all at the same time. So thank you Mr. Combs.
