Thousands took to the streets in Serbia's capital Belgrade to protest against the rebooting of a controversial lithium mine. The protests came after the government was given a deadline to ban the exploration and exploitation of lithium which expired on August 10. Massive protests gripped Serbia amid warning of a plot to topple populist President Aleksandar Vucic and his government. Earlier, Vucic said he had been tipped by the Russian intelligence services that a “mass unrest and a coup” was being planned. The protests in Serbia are being compared to the Maidan uprising in Ukraine's capital Kyiv that led to the toppling of then president Viktor Yanukovych in 2013.

Serbia and Venezuela should take notice of what happened in Bangladesh. People have enough of dictators and autocracies.

You know nothing! He is not Putin ally at all, but one of the purest west allys. He align in total with the west, excluding sanctions for Russia, ONLY because of serbian people who are 85% against it... And the protest is exclusivly against lithium mining.. Problem is that he is main promoter of it😂

Rio Tinto is an Australian company. Serbian will never forgive the Australian government for the humiliating mistreatment of Djokovic, a Serbian tennis player. Allowing Australia to take advantage of their lithium is betrayal and treason by President Vucic.
