A woman is dead and another is injured in a crash that took place near the Boeing Field in Seattle on Thursday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place around 7:30 a.m. on Airport Way South near South Hardy Street. Troopers initially tried to stop the vehicle for expired registration tags when the driver refused to stop.

Investigators said the driver drove away at a high speed and troopers lost sight of the vehicle. The driver was seen driving well over 100 mph when it hit a light pole and rolled. Troopers were not actively pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash.

WSP said the driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center and the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suicide over expired plates? Strange reaction. And I guess it failed, leaving her friend dead and car destroyed and her in the hospital.
