Digging straight down/up is perfectly fine,with feather falling/protection 3 or 4 lava can’t be too much of a problem.Digging straight up is fine too,once your above y-11 there is no lava basically anywhere and for grave just place a torch at your feet

For #24- I usually lead the creepers into water then block them with my shield! It does no damage to your surroundings nor to yourself.

Here’s a tip: if you wanna escape the mines, put a torch on the same block you’re on and mine up. The torch will save you from falling blocks. Then use the same blocks to build up. Once you can’t build up anymore (you’ve gotten to the top) repeat.

I have to disagree with the diamond hoe (even before they've given an upgrade) If you can some how use up a diamond hoe, you get the best achievement for it.

A diamond hoe is useful for the serious dedication achievement to get a netherite hoe. You can also enchant the diamond hoe with unbreaking and fortune to get more crops and efficiency to mine some blocks faster.
