On March 22, 2023 Terran 1 went from earth to space encompassing many historic firsts.

✅ First methane fueled rocket in the West to reach space, well over the 100km Karman Line (only other is China)
✅ First nearly entirely 3D printed rocket to fly and prove 3D printing is viable by passing Max-Q, the max stress on the rocket
✅ First methane orbital-class rocket to successfully complete stage 1 flight, main engine cutoff, and second stage separation in the West (only other is China)
✅ First-ever second stage ignition attempt during the vacuum of flight for a methane fueled orbital rocket in the West, collected first-ever flight data.

A dream turned reality. 🚀 Thanks for playing, GG.

  • I was born in 1952. In my lifetime I've watched some of the first satellite launches, the entire American space program from Mercury through Voyager, the Shuttle to all the Mars probes and on to this. From then to now we've gone from prop driven airliners to this. Wow! It's been quite a ride. I can hardly wait to see what's next.

It was incredible to watch live. Congratulations on a 100% successful first stage, a feat very few can claim on first attempt. I hope you see the contracts rolling in, and I hope you have a bright future ahead!

I think it goes without saying that this is a bloody massive step forward in the world of launch vehicle construction. My most esteemed words of congratulations goes out to Relativity and all the people making it happen over there. Although the first launch didn't get to orbit, you guys still made it a lot farther than planned on your first flight, and that alone is cause for celebration, not to mention the world firsts you've all taken in style. Welcome to space, Relativity. Good luck, and have fun.
