She’s taking out his training wheels but he doesn’t want them gone and now he’s gone.. This song is about wanting to move fast in a relationship while the other person doesn’t PITY PARTY : 34:44 - 38:21 ITS CRYBABY’S BIRTHDAY she sent invitations to everyone with love and care yet no one came:( This song is about loneliness and everyone being too busy for you lying or not TAG YOUR IT: 38:21 - 41:34 Crybaby’s party was a complete flop her birthday is over now and she’s going grocery shopping but a bad wolf man (his name in the book) is following her AND THE BAD WOLF MAN KIDNAPPED HER This song is about child abductors/kidnapper’s MILK AND COOKIES: 41:34 - 45:05 This song crybaby is forced my the bad wolf man to make cookies for him and when the bad wolf man is distracted by a phone call crybaby adds poison in the cookies and with that the bad wolf man died and crybaby left safe and sound This song is about always wanting revenge PACIFY HER: 45:05 - 48:52 Crybaby has returned but something is different.she decided to steal this girls man.not because she was inlove just for a game Mrs.potato head intro: 48:52 - 50:36 MRS.POTATO HEAD: 50:36 - 54:23 Skipped gore: 52:01 - 52:24 Crybaby turned on the tv and saw a horrible commercial that will make anyone insecure.it affected crybaby she changed the channel and found Mrs potato heads heartbreaking story This song is about how people will Change themselves for male attention or they don’t get stuff done to them bc their insecure This also shows how you don’t need surgery your natural face is beautiful and you don’t need to make you into a plastic doll just to look pretty when your pretty on your own mad hatter intro: 54:23 - 55:32 MAD HATTER: 55:32 - 59:02 Here crybaby gets her powers This song is about being seen as crazy or insane My theory: Don’t you find it weird that she got her powers in mad hatter but was able to spawn a toster out of nowhere in soap, take off her head in pacify her, make the party hats fly in pity party and fly in carousel? I have a theory that whatever crybaby’s mom gave her in sippy cup gave her power but they was weaker like a stage one of her powers. So when she was in mad hatter she fully developed her powers
  • I’m happy she found her new style but I’m gonna miss crybaby so much she was my childhood 😕
  • @SkylarVanity
She gives me goosebumps no matter how many times i listen to her. Shes literally my favorite music artist and probably always will be
  • the woman who got to be the mother in all the cry baby stuff needs recognition she’s actually amazing at portraying everything so well
  • i just think it’s crazy that her mom (in the mv’s) didn’t know she was giving birth to an immortal soul in mortal form
  • I am so glad I stumbled upon her music! She is a pure genius that can tie in adult themes into child-like settings. I don’t know any other artist like her.

So the storyline is something like this: (The timeline might be off but since there is no official full storyline this is the best i could do, tell me if something is wrong) Crybaby is born in an abusive and dysfunctional family with an alcoholic mom, a brother who does drugs and a dad who doesn’t engage in the family and instead goes out to have "fun". She was named crybaby by accident; a nurse gave the birth certificate to her brother (possibly because the father wasnt present) and he wrote down the first thing their mother said (crybaby), probably because he was too young to understand the situation. Crybaby goes to kindergarten/daycare/preschool (whatever you wanna call it) and gets bullied and teased, mainly by Alphabet boy who thinks he's smarter than her and Beth Anne, the popular girl. Her mom kills her dad after he came home with another girl. She somehow acquired powers, there are basically three options; 1. she could have had them for a very long time and even throughout multiple lives (as we get to know in k-12, she has lived many lives before this one) 2. she could have gotten them from the nurse in "Crybaby" (they are seen with the magic eyes) 3. she could have gotten them from the dream/paralyze she had in "Mad hatter" (or this could be where she understood them) either way, from what i understand of this part, she uses those powers to torture others, hoping that it will make her feel something. But then she falls in love and they end up in an on and off relationship. At first she seems to be very afraid to say what she really feels and whenever she does she feels guilty ("oh god i wish i never spoke, now i gotta wash my mouth out with soap"). But after some time she collects the courage to have a real talk. She wants him to be more serious in the relationship and "take off the training wheels" (the meaning of that could be multiple things but essentially, she wants to take it to the next level). He isn't ready for that and leaves her. Crybaby is heartbroken. She tries to feel better by throwing a birthday party but it is ruined by Beth Anne, who invited everyone to her own party so that no one came to Crybabys party. She then gets harassed and kidnapped by a pedophile (I think at this point she was so heartbroken and was craving validation, which led her to not really fight back). But it ends with her poisoning him and breaking free. Her life continues and she falls in love with the blue boy. He is taken by the mean girl (Beth Anne). Crybaby uses her powers to scare away the other girl and eventually succeeds, but the girl wins him back using her Barbie-like body, leaving Crybaby insecure and heartbroken once again. She tries to “fix” herself with pills and makeup but it doesn’t satisfy her. She then sees a girl get plastic surgery in a dream (or on TV?). The girls face gets botched and her man leaves her for a younger girl. Crybaby realizes that trying to change herself for a boy isn’t worth it. She finds a drink in her room and decides to try it. The drink sends her in to some sort of paralyze in which she really loses her mind. We see some sort of doctors(?) who have the same magic eyes that Crybaby has (or maybe she gets them from this dream/paralyze). My best guess here is that this is when she wakes up and realizes her powers and what she really can do with them. (The songs i haven't really mentioned are Play Date, Teddy Bear, Bittersweet Tragedy and Cake, because they dont fit in, dont add anything to the story or simply arent a part of it) After this she wakes up and that’s where k-12 starts. Edit: thank u for all the sweet comments, i wont be updating this too much in the future but im open for discussions; discord: survivalstarterkit#2644

Maybe everyone else noticed this already and I just missed it but during alphabet boy in 20:26 when she says Apples Aren’t Always Appropriate Apologies she’s using alliteration and continues to do that for the letters B(butterscotch, bubblegum, bittersweet) C (call, child, counting, coins) D (dad, dolly, dictionary, destroyed). I’m just amazed at the detail that goes into her lyrics every single time.

Who else is watching while being excited for her new album Portals? 🦋💗

So.... Crybaby is about people saying she’s really sensitive and is a crybaby. She said it’s based off when she was younger, and people called her a crybaby. At the end you see water, or tears coming from the dollhouse. Dollhouse is following, and explains more about her messed up family. She said crybaby’s family is like people living in a dollhouse controlled by a little girl. At the end the little girl starts turning more and more doll like. Sippy cup is about “what goes down in the kitchen” where crybaby’s mom kills her dad and his secret lover. And for clarification, At the end, crybaby does not die, her mother just gives her something so she goes to sleep and forgets what she saw. Carousel is about one of Melanie’s old relationships and how she had a one sided relationship with this guy and she felt like she was going around like a carousel Alphabet Boy is about a relationship Melanie had in college, where her boyfriend acted like he was smarter and way better than her. Soap is like when kids were bad back then, their parents made them wash their mouth out with soap, so crybaby wanted to wash her mouth out with soap because of what she said to him, like the word love. Training wheels is about how she was in a small relationship with her crush and wanted to have a serious relationship with him Pity party is about crybaby inviting her friends and her crush to her party but nobody showed up, so she destroyed the whole party. Tag, you’re it, in the beginning she was throwing away decorations from pity party. Then when she went out, there was a wolf trying to kidnap her. He had been trying for a while, but crybaby took the ice cream from the wolf that was poisoned or something so he could kidnap her. If you look at the part where crybaby is shopping you see that one employee gave her poison that she uses in milk and cookies. Milk and cookies is about her in when she’s being kidnapped by the wolf. She makes milk and cookies because he made her, and she puts the poison that she got from tag, you’re it in the cookies and fed it to the wolf and escaped. Milk and cookies is based on many nursery rhymes too. Pacify her is about how crybaby is sick of being in relationships and just wanted to break up a relationship for fun. She wanted to take him just to make her mad and because she just wanted to. I don’t know why she could take off her head, but she could. If you noticed though, at the end the blue boy leaves with the other girl. Mrs. Potato head is about crybaby seeing so many videos about changing yourself so she tried to look good and thinks if it’s a good idea. In the video, she is with a guy and he gets her a present, a face lift. She gets a face lift, and other things done, but it ends up failing. The guy that gave her the facelift paper ends up leaving her. At the very end crybaby realized what could’ve happened to her so she decides to just stay herself and not change. Mad hatter is about how she’s sick of people controlling her and judging her so she just is her. She doesn’t care if people think that she is crazy. It’s based off of Alice and wonderland. This is how she got her magic powers. I’m not an expert but this is what I think.
  • Just wanted to point out how you can see her “protector” all the way back in her first music video even tho we don’t formally meet her until k-12!! (I’m assuming it’s her by the matching jet black eyes) she’s the nurse when crybaby is first born (or reborn ) she’s seen as the cashier, and gives crybaby the poison aswell. I just think it’s neat
  • Some people say that it's impossible for a singer to cure depression and anxiety. Melanie Martinez existing in my life making me happy
  • @dragonfruit9680
Did anyone else notice that in Alphabet Boy, she used sign language? “I know my ABC’s” is when she used that
  • "Don't be a crybaby" was said to me when I would cry under understandable upsetting moments in my childhood. This song speaks to me on such a deep level. Listening to Melanie Martinez helps to heal my innerchild.
