"It would not seem intuitive to fight on a mount at all." Honestly, I had the exact opposite experience. I tried fighting him on horseback first and then ended up fighting better when I went on foot. Of course, I wasn't using a bow, and melee is always easier with a dodge button available...

Fighting on a mount worked quite well for me (mostly, some fights the camera's a bitch) as long as you meet it halfway- which means hit and run tactics, instead of riding in, and then sitting there smacking the enemy. To be fair, you were super early.

3:50 Inferno, you had the mobility of a souped-up cavalry, and decided to stand and just keep attacking... and get attacked... 17:27 It looks similar to DS3's blockstun, which is why I couldn't block and counter with a 2-handed weapon on DS3 unlike DS2 18:50 I appreciate that you didn't (purposefully) kill any of the rock snake things

btw I think you have eye-frames when mounting/dismounting - I didn't actually tried it myself midbattle yet but people say it's a pretty reliable way to basically 'avoid being hit' while being on torrent XD I guess it can be a good tool in battle, with the mount you at least can build distance quicker
