Be sure to catch the livestream tomorrow: Saturday, Dec 16th, 4:30 PM CST! And uhh, sorry if this video ended up a little melodramatic at parts. This is definitely a style of video I am not used to doing and I don't think I've found the exact tone I want for it yet. Let me know what you guys think though!

Something about you pivoting from modding various games in ridiculous ways... to dueling others in real life with weapons, is somehow both a unexpected and expected outcome.
  • @LegendaryBrah
I can see the requests now: “Do the Pontiff Sulyvahn 6-hit combo.” “Try the Soul of Cinder Gwyn combo” “Ember” “Drink estus”
  • @Vosspatha
Drunken promises to join a HEMA club are (in my experience) one of the most common reasons people get into this nonsense. Good to have you in the community and looking forward to seeing more content (HEMA and otherwise)!
  • The sword fighting high is universal. I get the same outrageous amount of dopamine out of Fencing.
  • @eglewether5523
Inferno getting into hema and buhurt feels like a natural evolution from that DS2 madman xD Also the philosophical part, yea getting punched in the face is something everyone should try in their lives at least once.
  • @weeeeedude
I was so giddy when i saw the title to this video, im always hoping that more people discover hema and want to talk about it. I love seeing you adding HEMA to your life, ive been getting hit with swords since 2015, and been an instructor for about 5 years now. Its a crazy amount of fun, and i mirror a lot of your statements about it helping your mental health. Congratulations on joining the hobby from the Medieval Military Arts Academy.

That's wonderful you've discovered combat sports, they're great! I've been in the SCA for many years now, and there's a lot of neurodivergent people who like to fight in there too. (We're similar to HEMA except we also do other historical things too, like cheesemaking or brewing, or scribal arts!)
  • Can't wait to see a real life Dark Souls 2 greatsword parry. Cool hobby Inferno, can't wait for the stream.
  • @pixelsilzavon77
Jokes aside, really glad to see you getting out and doing something you enjoy. I've debated trying it before, but never had the chance so far.

As someone who found a similar feeling from rock climbing, it sounds like you’ve found what really calls to you. Something that resonates with your soul, that scratches an itch in your brain that you didn’t realize existed. Embrace your newfound love, it can be life changing for the best. It’s also almost poetic for your evolution of modding Souls games to HEMA addict lol. Cheers to your future 1v1s!
  • Hell yeah, man, I'm really glad you found something that means so much to you. Chase your happiness wherever ya get it- and good on you for making an earnest video about all this, it's really cool
  • @BlagenLogin
GO FOR IT! I enjoyed your channels because you make genuine content. The mods you’ve made clearly have spirit put into them, which make them entertaining as hell, solid, and I haven’t even played any of them. It’s the kind of content the world needs. No half-assed, lazy, ignorant regurgitation that perpetuates Idiocracy. That same effort put into IRL sword fighting? Heck yeah!
  • @mookahmookah
The dark souls to martial arts pipeline is so real, it was boxing for me last year. Sparring and going past your limits in the ring gave me the same feelings you touched on in this video
  • @Primalintent
Had no idea you were in the HEMA scene too! Great to have you along as well!
  • @TheGamechair
Hell yeah!! Fellow Hema enthusiast and Autism haver. I've been in martial arts my whole life and I can agree that sparring is my favorite thing in the world. I can turn my hyper fixation onto the person/match and its so relaxing to just focus and not care about anything else. I am hype to see more content!!
  • @amazingnoo9935
Just watching the footage you showed in the video was pretty entertaining. You do that, skateboard like a pro, make extremely funny and impressive Halo and Dark Souls mods, you make high quality videos with impeccable editing, animations and humour? What an absolute unit.
  • @legateelizabeth
Every single thing I know about HEMA leads me to believe you've also taken up, or will take up, home mead brewing. That's it, that's all my HEMA knowledge.
  • @visualbrick6574
as a lifetime wrestler, the peace you described in sparring is something people don't comprehend until they try it
