Personal Branding for Beginners over 40 years old - How to start

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,222 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

When I hit my 92nd birthday last month, I knew that it was time to try something new. Selling my artwork through the various social media sites was getting me nowhere, so I decided to settle on YouTube. At age 92, I think I can safely say that I know a thing or two about life. And since I was a TV director for 40 years, I feel that I'm producing, directing, being the talent, working camera and editing, with no add agency guys telling me that the butter is melting too fast on the ears of corn for the chicken commercial. But I was a bit embarrassed to participate in their courses, to have them tell me what to do, and perhaps think to themselves, "Hey, we have this "MOM" in the group and she doesn't have it together, yet. She's not successful like us yet."😑😏So I am so glad I found you. While thinking of starting my own brand, I was hesitating but then my 50 yr old friend who is an architect lost his job in a company he has been working with for almost half of his life, I said to myself, this is why I’m gonna start my own.

I am going to take a step today towards creating my personal brand at age 49, two months and 10 days.

I'm in Chalene! Turning 47 this year and I'm finally going to pull the trigger on posting videos. I left corporate after a 20+ year career in financial services because I started receiving the thought "remember who you are." That's definitely a journey I want to share b/c it might help others. Im 69 in earth years old, 17 in my heart , with a ton of life experience , I started really working on my you tube in /august this year , I'm going for it ! my first videos were put up 5 years ago , I never paid any attention to it , I thought you tube was for young people..... if we can just remember what we're doing , over 60 is killing it ...Chalene ,I first saw you on mastermind got inspired ....thank you ....ps I now have 77 videos up...

OMGOODNESS!!! I am 44years old and I can relate to this video so much. I’m very creative. I’m an expert in like 3 areas and have a serious interest in quite a few (4) more. I also started out wanting to be a lawyer and going to law school that’s what I told EVERYONE, and also my desire to be an entrepreneur ALSO at an extremely early age around 15/16. My first business card at 15 was for braiding hair on the weekends and I had a pager number on that card.

I haven’t been consistent with creating my personal brand, but it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. In the last couple of years, I created a Facebook group, started a podcast, designed a journal (not published yet), and this year I was set to start a YouTube channel. I set the channel up and posted one short, but haven’t been consistent with it. I needed to hear this today. The seeds have been planted, I just have to tend to them. It’s funny because my content is all about personal growth. I’ve been putting it off because I feel like I haven’t been the best at setting a good example for my audience. But in the spirit of authenticity, personal growth is about the journey, the ups and the downs. I just need to be vulnerable enough to share my journey even if it’s not all wins. There is value in that too. Thank you for putting this message out there!! Now I am declaring to this comment section and the universe that this is my intention for 2024, starting now. This resonates so much 😢. I’m going through this now at 43. I’m good at so many things and can’t narrow it down. I have my hands in so many things right now that my business is struggling. I feel like I should be sharing my experiences with others through communication but something is stopping me.
