Complex's weekly series Don't Believe the Hype takes a look at what's hot and what's just hot air. Sneakers, clothes, tech, food—nothing is safe. One of the most hyped sneakers in the last few years is Balenciaga's Triple S sneaker. So what happens when they decide to drop a "bred" colorway very similar to the Jordan 1? The hype was so big, we decided to wait on line for several hours in the rain to get these...and Complex employees didn't hold back at all when they got their eyes on them, in this episode of Don't Believe The Hype.

When this vid dropped I didn’t believe the hype too, and now I’m literally about to buy a pair next week.

On foot it looks fine imo, not worth $850 though. And people are complaining about the price, obviously it’s marketed to people who have that amount of money to spend so what are you complaining for if you don’t even like it? And it’s pretty bold saying that “nobody” likes Balenciaga shoes and that people only like them for “the hype” because people have different tastes and they’re made by a designer brand. Tbh I don’t even know why I’m talking about this because at the end of the day people are people and shoes are just fuckin shoes...

really the only people I see wear the balenciaga triple s are fashionistas that are not into "hypebeast" or "complex". they're usually into "vogue", "harpers bazaar", etc...

These shoes are so beautiful in person. And also so comfortable I owned 3 of them
  • @pabloa5288
I bought em and they are super comfortable. Downside was they only came in 1 size and my feet look really big. Still worth it in my opinion, plus I got it for 550-ish dollars on therealreal so yay for me

Sure the look is polarizing, but in/on person they are actually quite nice. the shoes are actually the comfiest pair of sneakers I have ever worn. yes they are way overpriced especially now that it is made in china. but if they were maybe 250$ they would be the best sneakers ever.

  • @smilncynic
Thanks for addressing the comfort. Two other videos I saw about these shoes said nothing about it.

When the guy said by the shape of the box i thought you where doing an episode on birthday cake 🎂. The rice I was eating went up my nostril, next time I see don’t believe the hype I would make sure I’m not eating

Bought mine for € 779 ! Dublin 🇮🇪 Triple S CLEAR’S 🔥🔥🔥 When you put them and look down at them and see how crazy they look and how comfortable they are, the air bubble with the sole helps, not with the weight.. doh!. You will want them. First time walking in them is funny but you get used to the weight over time. If making long distances bring a backpack and some Yeezy’S or Ultra-Boost as back-ups. They should be €550 since making the move to China 🇨🇳,
