1.15 Armor Sorter

I think "Armor filter" would be a better name for this because calling it a sorter implies that it sorts out individual armor pieces.

To make it working in 1.16+ : add a repeater with the 2 at the bottom, put the first and the second at 2 tick and the 3rd at max tick

I think you can sort different pieces from each other, if the armour stands are already equipped with certain pieces

Can you make a lag friendly storage system with Pallas idea of using binary so that you don’t need a sorter for every item

Thanks so much for this ilmango, it’s so useful! I was looking for something to sort out the iron boots in a piglin bartering farm and this is a really cool contraption! It actually works perfectly since I can run the spectral arrow sorter into the arrow dispenser so it works automatically. Well done on this!

Ive been thinking there might be a way of separating the armour further, at least helmets. After sorting the armour, you could sort it again but put a carved pumpkin on the armour stand before trying to attach the armour piece. If the piece doesn't attach then it's a helmet.

Minecraft Update: Exists Ilmango: You triggered my trap card!

cool, new challenge is to make a sorter for individual armor pieces that uses an armorstand equipped with every piece but one, and then reequipping these 3 pieces for every sort cycle. So either the armor equips, or it fires out as an item. You can assume all inputted items are armor pieces.

a while back i made a redstone test world of an extreme overly complex sorting device and i made an armor filter using the same basic concept of this, but i had to use command blocks to spawn the armor stand, and the spawned armor stand drops were then filtered elsewhere. overall it wasn't really practical and it used commands, so while a survival version would be doable, it would be tedious to place the armor stand by hand, so i completely forgot about it after that project was done. with armor stands being placed by dispensers now it didn't even cross my mind that that sort of device can actually be made now without commands and be far more effective.

U can also sort helmets to one slot, pants to the other and so one. By spawning an armorstand and equipping it

This no longer works in 1.16+, or at least not with boots (I’m building a piglin bartering hall). Would you be able to design an updated system that works in 1.16/1.17 in the nether? I’ve tried so many things and can’t get them to work.
