I'm 82+ young years and only wish I had found you and your realistic style of home cooking about 60 yrs ago! I stumbled over one of your videos - the cherry tomato smashed spaghetti sauce with penne pasta and it has only been uphill since then! I have posted soooooooooooooo many of your videos, shouting your virtues, on my personal FB page. You Rock! You are a true gift to your own personal 4 member family. You have changed your children lives without them ever knowing - true love!

This guy cooks in a realistic manner! Timing, substitute ingredients, improvising and eat what you got in the fridge! Love it!

I seriously need videos like this. With some very restrictive dietary limitations, diabetes, non-alcoholic liver disease, and possibly celiac, I've struggled to find good tasty meals to eat. I was just gifted an air fryer, and based on the meals you made in this video, I came up with some ideas that will work with my limited diet. Thank you!

I love the way you include leftovers in the process. That kind of cooking is a really important skill set that too many people sadly missed out on for a multitude of reasons (de-prioritization of practical subjects such as home economy, for example).

if you want the hummus to be extra fluffy and good use the trick that middle eastern restaurants use, try blending in a few ice chips at the end (also you have to include lemon, garlic, and olive oil if you haven't)
  • Ok I love how real you are. The substitutions on the fly because-just like me-grocery issues supplying some items. 5 second rule applies in my house too. The two week old lime . SAME. Delicious and absolutely realistic, thank you!

Can you share some tips on how to clean the air fryer more efficiently?

My wife and I bought an air fryer because of your early videos on the subject. The key was that you broke it down to the understanding that it is basically a miniature convection oven. Then BAM!! Everything made sense from there. We now cook just about everything we would have in a regular oven in the air fryer. It's a bit cheeky, but one of our favorite things to make is chicken wings. Spicy and crispy in no time. You've given us a lot of ideas to try out. This episode, the steak especially intrigues me - I'm thinking combine time in the sous vide followed by a crisp up in the air fryer. One more thing, the humus on the steak isn't something I've thought of although it is a staple of any Mediterranean steak dish. Thanks for the reminder.

I gotta say, everything you're doing is just brilliant, it's easy simple quick but rich at the same time.
  • I love how it doesn’t look pree planned or perfect it’s like I’m in the kitchen rn. Loved this video. Using the same bowl to reduce clean up after is like a everyday habit for me.
  • I didn’t get a air fryer cause all my chef friends joked it was just a small convection oven. Bought one last month when I discovered your channel. They are great I roasted a whole chicken in 55 minutes last night. Roasting veggies come out great and being able to cook chicken nuggets for my son in 10 minutes is really nice.

14:30 First time I see ají verde in an english spoken video. Here in Chile is very common, I love it’s freshness.

I just made your air fryer tofu and the orange sauce and it was sooo nice. Barely any oil used and traditionally I would have to use lots of oil to get it crispy in the pan. Thanks Mike!

I love how you leave room for mistakes! That's ultimately how you learn in cooking!!
  • Thanks so much! I have an air fryer for a year now but I am still learning how to use it. I have learned so much today, from your way of cooking that I would be making these easy dishes often now.
  • @va1445
The first time we cooked tofu in the air fryer we vowed to never cook it any other way. Before we had an air fryer we were like "what's all the fuss about"... then we got one and I get it. We love our air fryer!
  • @stevethach3340
That first recipe looks stupid easy! I'm starting to reach a point of picking up on patterns between food recipes! Woot woot!
  • @DesertRainReads
There are so many things you can make in an air fryer. I have a multi-function utility that also has an air fry option. Namely a Ninja Foodi XL Pro Grill & Griddle. I have used this to make all sorts of wonderful dishes ever since I got it, including air fried Karaage, which is so frigging good!

Really great information. Just last week my first-ever air fryer -- a Cosori, no less -- was delivered; I bought it not knowing a thing about air fryers. I just read Amazon reviews and picked the small size because I'm cooking only for myself. I have LOVED the ribeye, the salmon, the Brussels sprouts, the green beans & summer squash that I've made and am looking for new and creative ways to use it. Thank you for all of these fantastic creative experiments! I'm on a keto diet so a lot of what you're doing I won't be able to duplicate exactly, but I can always "keto" a recipe.
