This Frank Lloyd Wright inspired sofa table was made entirely from scrap wood I had laying around. However, one of those scraps was over eight feet long. So understandably, not everyone will have scraps like that. Either way, this was a fairly easy project that would only cost around $2-300 to make yourself. I hope you like it, let me know what you think!

Riggs looks like he'd be a great troll-hunting dog! I like the way the base came out on this table, perfect stability is over-rated. Furniture falling on kids builds character. When I was 5 we had a four drawer chest stacked on another four drawer chest. The pulls were perfect little climbing holds, so I thought. I ended up on the ground with one chest on top of me. The 80's were great, man.
  • We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. youtube.com/post/UgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0… Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.
  • OMG! Taping and Hot glueing the table to the floor. Love it!! I’m glad I started going back to watch your older videos.

Riggs - I'm watching this 3+ years later, but I love the color paired with the leather couch!

Riggs, after reading the troll comment, I wanted to say that I simply don’t understand his gripe; as someone who (very amateurishly) dabbles in woodworking, part of my enjoyment of your videos is hearing you narrate your process of building as well as your talking through your thought process when making these pieces. Love the content, man
  • Riggs, I myself would like to see projects that I call “Realistic “ meaning affordable and functional for the hobbyist woodworker who does projects for friends and family and not as a living source of income. I understand your livelihood is making and selling so I do not want or expect you to switch gears but maybe toss in projects every once in a while geared towards us. Thank you for what you do and create. I hope your shop helpers leg heals up real soon. Thanks, Mike

Riggs, you make whatever you wanna make I just enjoy and learn from watching your videos. My father was a cabinet maker and a furniture maker and I enjoy a lot of the new stuff that you bring as he was old-school Carpenter. He died in 2002 so I just enjoy watching your show thank you, Ken.

I think it would be interesting to see you do a project with only the simplest tools a weekender/beginner might have.

Riggs. wife : "can you move that table an inch to the right?" , "best i can do is move the couch an inch to the left"
  • Riggs is the perfect mascot for Blacktail Studio. Love seeing him anytime / anywhere. Loved the table and loved the base. Kudos to your wife's design input!
