When M.O.D.O.K. became a good guy just because Cassie told him to do it, after many years of pure hatred against Ant-Man, that was the worst scene ever.
  • @Khilkhameth
For set-up, it would be better if Janet HAD explained about Kang, warned against disturbing him, but Cassie CHOSE to go to the Quantum Realm through her sense of justice which had been established. Give the heroes some goddamn agency!

This is the worst MCU movie for me. The constant “I cant tell you” trope from janet when all she’s doing half the movie is traveling giving her ample time to tell them about kang, kang saying “ive killed 100 avengers” yet stalling when given multiple chances to kill scott, the childish dialogue from cassy and modok, and hank and hope being pretty useless in a movie called ant man AND THE WASP. Just felt so empty with no sense of direction
  • @AA-xo7xl
Also, in Ant Man 1, Hank says that he made the discs after Janet was lost to the quantum realm. Janet having these discs and using them to shrink Kang's ship's core is impossible.

I still don't understand how in Avengers: Endgame, Scott was in the QR for 5 hours and came out 5 years later. But in Antman 3, they're in the QR for a day or two (?) and come back in present day.

My exact same thoughts! positives: - Kang and Janet scene working together - Kang negotiating with Scott negatives (some): - Quantum Realm looked horrible, amazing how the GOTG movies look drastically better than this, - Kang defeated Thor, but had problems with Ants? - Final battle sequence made zero sense, kang could have easily escaped. Why did he need his useless army? - Why didn't Janet tell them who Kang is?

I hated that Cassie (who is supposed to be 18 here) is suddenly a supergenius/superhero out of nowhere
  • @JGr2000
During the final fight scene between Kang and Scott, why did Hope wait so long to help Scott? They all just stood on the other side of the portal and did nothing
  • The biggest void of Logic is Evangeline Lilly's Haircut she better had gotten a refund from that stylist.
  • @5linkforce
You already said so much, but I just have 2 comments. -Darren was sent to Quantum Realm before Scott was ever an Avenger, so I don't think it makes sense for him to "die as an Avenger" -The ending would've been a lot more impactful if it ended with Scott and Hope stuck in the Quantum Realm, even if they get brought back at the beginning of a different movie

The easiest change to Modok would have been to have him conspire against Kang from the start, giving the Ant-team clues and conveniently sparing them to fulfill his agenda. Let's say that Kang had installed some failsafe that prevented Modok from ever going rogue. So Modok needed someone else to do it for him. He could be left for dead, but reveal he's alive after all the heroes leave and now he's in charge of the Quantum realm.
  • Another thing about the Deux Ex Machiants: if they’d been down there 1000s of years, surely the original ants that got sucked into the hole would have been long dead. Those ants are their descendants (unintentional pun 😅) Unless they became advanced enough to live thousands of years. Or their civilization was some kind of cult devoted to finding Hank
  • @MaurDL
Never thought I'd hear "... getting sucked off by two alien flesh-lights ..." as the description of an MCU plot beat, but here we are. When it comes to the subtle witty and wry digs/burns in your reviews, this is definitely the new high-water mark for me. 😄
  • What I heard is, they recasted Cassie's actress from Endgame to the girl from Detective Pikachu without telling her! Cassie from Endgame is way better, even she has limited screen time and not having much dialogues, she has better acting than the new Cassie. Also, she's kinda look like Paul Rudd than the new Cassie. Not only that, they make Cassie in Ant-Man 3 is unlikable and act know-it-all.

At this rate, I feel like Supercuts Delight would make an incredible film writer.
  • @jermainegrays
You forgot to mention Kang insinuated he had defeated avengers before yet he loses here to Antman alone.
  • @gardenofwords914
A cool thing they couldve done with modok is to have his face be more inhuman as super suggested but do it over time to show that the quantumrealm can be dangerous for humans and give the realm a sense of danger.

The "devoid of logic" theme already started previous Ant Man movie, where they forgot to upgrade his suit with wings. I mean, it was easy peasy for Pymm to make a flying suit for Hope, why not slap some wings on Scott's suit as well? Being able to fly is incredibly useful and at this stage in the Marvel universe everyone can do it, even Captain America. And it seems there doesn't have to be any scientific explanation or logic anymore, like they meticulously did in Iron Man 1. Nowadays suits just fly.

The only good thing about the movie was Kang giving Ant-Man the hot fists of fury.
