Crochet socks are a great way to show someone you care. The technique used to make this sock heel is called short rows, where we crochet half of the heel, then "turn" the heel.

This is the first tutorial that I’ve completely understood for socks… thank you for your precise instructions for this beginner that is nervous about trying this …

This is the best short row heel turn I’ve ever seen! Thank you Ashlea!

Just made my first sock it came out looking great chose to omit top row at the end as I made it too tight couldn’t get the foot in lol. Made in size 10 hoping to get the other one done in time for Mother’s Day present 😀

Thanks for the pattern! Your instructions are quite clear. My first sock came out so badly that it was funny! I uh... thought I had the pattern memorised 🙄. I just made two more socks and they are looking great, so I figured out where I was going wrong. And I never even considered using stitch markers like you have. I'm always wrestling with the plastic safety-pin like markers. So I ordered lobster hooks and cute charms to make a bunch. Anyway thanks again!
  • I'm a beginning crocheter and I was able to follow along easily. And my socks are wonderful!

This is by far the “toetally” best sock pattern I have ever used, especially how the heel is made… thank you so much for sharing this

It's that time of year again. And Im back at this WONDERFUL Video. Definitely my go to video for sock making. I come to this video to make my family matching holiday socks for Christmas photos. They are an absolute hit and ppl always ask me where I get them. I've gotten good enough to make the sock with only the linked instructions in the bio. You are the absolute best and I appreciate you dearly ❤

Ça fait 5 mois que je tente de faire des bas au crochet et que je ne réussi pas en suivant un pattern écrit. Avec ton vidéo, j'ai réussi pour la première fois à bien comprendre. Reste à en faire un autre pareille. Merci! J'ai hâte de voir tes autres vidéos. 🫠

"just to get your feet wet" I certainly hope not :P (sorry that made me giggle) This is an amazing pattern. I got frustrated with the last pattern I was using and frogged my whole project and found your pattern and am so pleased with it. I also love the linked double crochet for socks, it's so much better than a typical double crochet.
