The best compliment for this new Ashley is that, at certain points in the story, we feel downright proud of her. She really comes through when we didn't expect her to.

Ashley got the biggest glowup out of anything/anyone in this game, she went from an annoying teenager to a well mannered, beautiful, not annoying but also badass young woman.

I feel the flirting is a little sweeter and more impactful in the remake. Because we consistently see Ashley be a compassionate person and caring about Leon beyond "I need him to safely get out of here" and Leon clearly acknowledges that she saved him a few times too. Yes, they could probably never be a couple, but the remake gives them a little bit more of a fire-forged friendship, which makes their interactions a lot more sincere.

In the remake, Leon and Ashley are actually really cute together. They have more chemistry than he does with Ada.Then again, Leon seems to have more chemistry with everyone than he does with Ada in this game.

What I appreciate the most about the remake's version of the scene is that Ashley's request isn't as blatantly flirtatious—and that Leon's rejection is more along the lines of "you're too good of a person for me" than a cold "no". Of all the changes Capcom made, that's the one change I respect the most.

I love how RE4 remake Leon actually encourages Ashley, saying she’s strong enough to handle herself. So wholesome!

Not only the looks, the mannerism and dialogues in the remake version are so much better than OG. The ending scene for instance, Ashley just asked about 'overtime' straight to Leon in childish manner, while in the remake, she maturely just offered Leon if he's interested to become her bodyguard, she could recommend him to her father, which left us imagining things and I love that.

The new ashley really is the sunshine of the game, in a place where everything is dead her small words of encouragement helped Leon trudge through it all, sorry Chris but I think this one might be the one
