  • The OG Leon was just having a blast throughout the game lmao. He was enjoying RE4 himself
  • I love how OG RE4 Leon is somehow both really badass and really cheesy at the same
  • @ThePonderor
How could they not put Salazar: I’ve sent my right hand to dispose of you. Leon: You’re right hand comes off? Shame

I love both versions. OG Leon is just in full on cheesy action hero mode and cannot wait to spout his one liners. He’s a ton of fun and very memorable. He played right into the over the top nature of the villains he encounters like he does this every day. Remake Leon is more consistent with his character from 2, which is something his version actually does do better than the original. He’s kinda jaded and totally over these megalomaniacal assholes and his humour comes from not being amused at all. His reading of “Who the HELL are you?” when he meets Salazar is both appropriate and hilarious. He’s like the straight man who gets the best lines and it totally works.
  • The remake has more accurate spanish accents, but as a spanish myself it was hilarious how in the original they put hispanoamerican accents without a second thought.
  • honestly for the remake, a lot of the goofy one liners came from the in-game dialogues rather than cutscenes

“Great. We all have names.” New Leon has some pretty iconic lines too. Love the remake
  • "Yeah, fat chance, Ramon" can never compete or stand at the same position and legacy as "No thanks, bro" ever did. It even stayed as an achievement's title for the remake when defeating Salazar, that's how iconic it can be.

It's hard to pick one because the remake Leon makes more sense given the context of the situation but og Leon is so unserious in such an iconic way that he makes the oneliners and cheesy lines so fun

I actually love when you first meet Salazar in the Remake, Leon looked so tired of all the BS and was like “Who. The hell. Are you?” Lmao
  • "Guess your tapdancing days are over" is probably one of the best one liners in the remake

I'm going to give the crown to Paul Mercier for not only being a great and memorable Leon, but also for giving The Merchant an iconic voice in the same game, as well. That is some impressive range!
  • I thought the new Leon did great. However I know people will always have a soft spot for the OG, and rightfully so.

The original car ride scene is way more iconic, the kumbaya line deserves some kind of award on its own
  • I like how the OG leon was more "comedic" and the new leon is more "emotional and mature" both have amazing additions to the game in their own way, can't really say the same for OG Luis, I feel the new Luis had both more character development and story relevance, if you took away Luis from the OG game the story could carry out normally, also I feel the new Luis is more of someone you can identify with emotionally, I also liked OG Ramón more than the remake one, I find him to be a bland compared to the original

2:55 I always thought the "You got a smoke?" question was a code phrase, so Luis would know if someone he met was working with his contacts or just a random person.

I prefer the kick that Leon throws at the big cheese. Goofy but satisfying

I'm glad they got Nick to reprise his role as Leon. It helps show Leon's growth from Res2, more naturally. I do find it funny how they used Leon's A scenario from re2make. But honestly, it flows better. Having Leon learn from Marvin. Aswell as Leon holding on to Marvin's knife. Is a nice touch.

They took one of the greatest games of all time and remade it into one of the greatest games of all time

Something I noticed is how many people (back then too) complained about Ashley being a damsel in distress. Which.. yeah. The point is she's a college student with an important figure of a Dad, making her a target so people can get to her Dad through her. I mean if I was yoinked right now by a bunch of creepy people with bags over their heads and a guy saying he talks to God, I would do a whole lot of crying and running away. That's traumatizing as hell. Not to Claire because she's used to being raised in rough conditions, Ada was trained for stuff like this. Ashley is your everyday person, of course she'd freak out a lot
