The fallout show isn't perfect but its definitely not bad, a lot of the hate comes from hardcore fallout fans nitpicking about small lore changes.

The "lore" from the show craps all over established Fallout lore. The show was mediocre at best. I also feel you're gonna be disappointed with F3 when you start playing it because it is a huge step down from FNV when it comes to the story, characters, dialogue, and overall RPG elements. Most of the perks are lackluster and you don't have nearly as much freedom in the game. In FNV you can kill almost anyone but in F3 many characters are unkillable which is so lame for an RPG.
